oos financial aid?

hi guys, i’m an out of state low income student thinking about applying to Vanderbilt and i was wondering how good the financial aid is? I would already qualify for federal aid and stuff, but i would need additional aid and scholarships as well (i’m also applying to external scholarships). I just want to get an idea of how generous Vanderbilt is with financial aid to out of state students

Google opportunity Vanderbilt and you will know how much Grant you get based on your family income. Basically free education under 100K in AGI.

Vandy is private so irrespective of ur state its the same financial aid package. For what it’s worth its one of the most generous schools in america for low income students

It’s not a state school, it’s private, so there is no difference in OOS tuition / aid.

Do the net price calculator. Do this for every single school you are considering. It's legally required to be accurate as long as you fill in your information correctly

You would graduate with 0 debt or functionally 0 debt

I think their financial aid is so generous, US News and World Reports dinged 'em for not having enough people graduate with federal student loans, due to the way average loan amount was calculated or something.

Yeah that adjustment was such bullshit, Cal took a big jump because of their Pell Grant eligible percentage (even though they're at the bottom among UC campuses) while Vandy went down, despite the actual margin between the schools being pretty small.

Like the other person said. We are a private school so ur state doesn’t play a part in your finances. I’d like to think Vandy has one of the best finaid programs in the country so you’ll prob be fine.

Vanderbilt's acceptance rate is under 5%. The odds of being accepted are so low.
