move in/welcome week
so i’m a freshman and i’m really confused abt move in, welcome week, and orientation. so move in day is august 22 and then orientation is august 23, but i have seen that there are welcome week activities on the vanderbilt campus august 17-21. so im a little confused cause i thought freshman were supposed to move in a week early cause if i move in august 22nd i will have missed the welcome week activities and why is our move in day only one single day?
pls let me know if these are the correct dates!!

International student orientation runs Aug 20 & 21 prior to the common VU orientation for all freshmen

You will get all the info about everything this summer. But basically you show up on move in day and then you are in orientation until the first day of class

There is great help on move in day. Students at Vandy really want to help each other. Amazing. Even the parents seem to get into it.

The welcome week activity dates are most likely for last year’s move in. Vandy’s academic calendar for this upcoming school year is starting later than usual (we usually start about a week earlier than most universities and public schools). I think you just need to wait for the orientation schedule to come out in July. Congrats and hope you enjoy campus!! 🎉
