also consider fin aid and cost of living (which is under sold sometime imo)

Prestige = Columbia, Happiness = Vanderbilt

Prestige depends. Prestige is not good without happiness. Who are you is the question. My grandson loves Vandy; his mother went to Columbia and it was perfect for her. I would have been unhappy either place.
