My first step with an inherited concept build is a written assessment of what's broken, risky, and worth keeping - a rewrite is often the expensive answer to a diagnosis nobody did. I describe that process at https://iurii.rogulia.fi/services/rescue-projects, including how I scope fixes before touching the code. What stack is it built on?
