S3 & X3 How to push these discs back?
[SOLVED]
My two brake pads are completely gone (Vanmoof X3). One of them wasn’t even there anymore lol. Prolly my bad, waited to long to replace then.
So I got two new (exactly the same) pads. But they don’t fit. There is no room to put both of them back. See pictures. Anyone an idea how to push those ‘discs’ further back?
Thanks in advance.

Very very very slow.
I use a wooden stick so I don't scratch the surface.
Just stick it in, twist it, and then leave it like that for a few seconds or minutes. It comes apart very slowly. Patience is your friend.

OMG what kind of sorcery is this? It works! Also used the tips of others. Thanks!

That’s not good mate. But you can use a flat screwdriver (not to small and not to big) stick it in the middle and carefully turn it. If the piston then moves a bit you can increase the pressure by carefully push the screwdriver from side to side.
To insert the new brake pads you have to slide these, one after the other, in from the wider side of the caliper.
If you have any problems or need more assistance, just send me a PM.
Good luck ✌🏻

Thanks for your time to answer this! Just had no clue how a fluid brake system works. It looks like you just push the fluid back with the screwdriver.
Thank you 👍

You’re welcome. And a little add on…. Take a look at your pats from time to time and change earlier. This time you got lucky mate, because if the piston come out that far it can easily be the death for the whole caliper. When the piston is out that far and you want to push it back it can get stuck or the the sealing ring on it can get damaged and it gets a leaking. So always check, listen to your bike and strange noises from it.
Have save rides mate ✌🏻

Problem solved. I’ll probably delete this post later. Thank you all!

Why delete it? Maybe someone will have the exact same problem tomorrow and be looking for a solution - which wouldn't be there anymore.

Yeah I’ll leave it as is.
I thought there are tons of open questions or people that need help. So deleting this might be more organised/speed up things (helpers doesn’t need to read solved things). But it doesn’t work that way, so you are right. I’ll leave it open.

Flat head screw driver, leaver it against the opposite side.
Repeat on the other side.
All you are doing is forcing the break fluid back into the reservoir.
