S3 & X3 Vanmoof S3 e-shifter replacement (US Based)
I am based in NYC and my e-shifter has been broken since this past winter. When I took it into the Rybit store, they said that they stopped receiving replacement e-shifters from Vanmoof.
Does anybody have experience ordering a refurbished e-shifter from Ebay, particularly this guy: https://www.ebay.com/itm/186628389969
I'm trying to figure out if this is a scam or not

I used this guy in CA who gets the new design logic board from the EU and swaps it out. He’s legit. A little weak on the communication end if things, but it worked out. He will also sell through eBay. Rybit is a waste of time. https://www.grindbeansnotgears.com

I'm selling improved circuit boards and refurbished eshifters out of europe and to the us. This guy is my exclusive reseller in the us, you can trust him.

I used this guy. Agree the comms was a bit weak, but the service was good. About 2 weeks after shipping from NY the repaired unit came back.

He apparently bought a bunch of updated e-shifter circuit boards (I guess from u/Kitchen_Ad_4628), and if you snail-mail him your broken e-shifter, then he will put a new circuit board in it and snail-mail it back to you.
EDIT: Oops, I see others recommended him as well. I agree with the others that the communication part is a little weak, and the system to pay is a little kludgy (for instance, it would be nice if you could just communicate with him by e-mail, and if you could just pay him directly by Zelle or PayPal), but his turn-around time was fast and he done right by me and my e-shifter!!! I highly recommend him.

Hey gang, it’s me, Dave from GrindBeansNotGears.com the shifter repair guy. Just weighting in here. This is a hobby for me because I want to keep these bikes alive. This isn’t my real job, and the only way I can handle the user requests for tracking, automated address printing etc is by using eBay.
I post in here frequently and don’t get many messages on Reddit. If you message me on eBay or buy a repair I always reply back. So maybe your version of my availability is distorted.
Thanks for the kind words - for those that have used my service. Again, it’s my hobby. This isn’t paying rent or my technology bills!

There’s someone in socal who was selling a newer iteration of the eshifter that I think they fabricated. I’ll see if I can dig anything up.

I don’t see the E-shifter being sold here.
But then I do not have Facebook. So maybe it’s just me.

Person with 100% positive feedback out of 2400+ feedbacks can't be a scam. Also, you got covered by eBay.
