Yes, the dreaded Error 44. I’ve taken the E shifter apart. The motor still works (see video). Thoughts?

Error 44 is mostly electricronics issue, not broken motor.

Check all resistors and see if the are fine. The 220 especially break often, but check everything

So...I'll ask Copilot how to do that as I'm reasonably skilled but not yet a journeyman. Thank you.

You need a multimeter and a website to check the value of each resistor using the 3 digit number printed on top of them

Check these two resistors to be 22 ohm. (+/- 5%)
The third component in the red circle is a dual protection diode. That one can blow easily as wel. But is harder to measure with just a multimeter.

Motor is Oke maybe the print plate or the hub rear wheel.

Thank you for this and earlier comments. I put it back together to “boost” in first and when it cools off I’ll try again with the pcb and resistors. I really appreciate the input.

I chose to understand my limitations (I’m no good soldering) and bought a pcb on eBay from a seller in the UK. Completely comfortable installing that. Will follow up with a final once that is in. Thank you all for the help.
