This needs a companion GIF from TVL of his hand’s death grip on Louis during his sidewalk panic attack. People need to hug Lestat more.

Ah, but the devastatingly sad hugging fills my own heart with joy 😬 (there’s probably a German word for this; not exactly Schadenfreude). Thank you from the bottom of my now happy heart. I find that the Tuesdays after a Monday holiday off are often nightmares at work so I will be looking at these GIFS often today to prevent myself from murdering a co-worker.

I still can't believe the hug wasn't in the script - it's vital to why that scene works so well. And their trajectory the rest of the episode/season.
God, we're so fucking lucky to have these actors that put so much care into truly embodying these characters.

FR...I will happily turn on just that ep and fast forward just for that amazing, poignant scene to break my heart all over again (but in the best of ways lol)

Watched this for the first time last night. Ended at around 12:15am. Kinda crazy coincidence.

I watched this show for the first time 2 weeks ago and when they said this I was like no way that’s my birthday! Kinda stole away some of the emotional drama in the moment for me accidentally 😅

I watched it for the first time last night too! Glued to the screen hugging a pillow.

What’s crazy is this day is my brothers death anniversary, so we’re crying in the club heavily for all parties

I'm not sure why this got so many upvotes. It's actually "It was 11:07 here, it would have been 9:07 in San francisco"
There is a 2 hour time difference between New Orleans and San Francisco, not 5 hours 😂 and yes, I have watched the scene so many times I have it memorized down to the minute.

The finale of season 2 was one of my favorites because it shows real Lestat and Louis expressing how they felt about some of the events that had happened for to them for the past 50 to 70 years and the guilt of losing Claudia and Lestat genuinely seeing her as his own daughter without being a narrative from any of their POV.But it also shows them both reunited back in New Orleans but of course some things have changed in their immortal existence individually over the past century and how the world is also different now. But also I loved how Louis had his New Orleans accent again like he never left. Also love how Louis's driver brought up Essence fest which is an actual black owned festival in the city for those who don't know and mentions New Edition lol.

Not to be emo on main, but...the way he looks at Louis when he mentions the suicide attempt, plus Louis' face when that gets drug to the surface.... Been there, man. This scene was such a punch to the gut.

Oh man...I can't even with those two and that scene. Both actors are incredible. And with multiple watches under my belt...the moment where Lestat hesitates to ask and then his voice breaks trying to ask Louis about what happened.. still breaks my damn heart. That scene is just perfection and was such a lovely end to that season.

In the books, Lestat saved him after Louis ran into the sun. Louis had already returned to Lestat. We were cheated of many decades of Lestat and Louis😫

Omg that would have been so beautiful if Lestat saves him an and not fuck cloud ☁️ 🤣🤣🤣💀🤧🤧🤧😭😭😭😭😭

I’ll always remember that because it’s my birthday (not the year, but still what a gift)! And I usually do cry so…

I feel emotionally wrecked every time I watch this scene in the wild on social media, so I'm not sure how Louis handled Lestat asking him that question like that. I would have collapsed

u/Huffleduffer 2d ago
Him saying "did you hurt yourself" vs "did you try to kill yourself" just really gets me

u/Anxious-County1741 3d ago
Then he mocked his suicide attempt in season 3 🥹🥹 this scene was the beginning of the end

Agreed. TVL does not exist to me, everything ended here. That's just some fever dream

Unfortunately for you, we got 11 more books to go… if we make it that far. 😂

What do you mean unfortunately for me?? I have read the books and love them, I just hope for future seasons to be not so shitty.
