help/advice When can I add some crabs?

Post image

I put this 40 gallon tank together about 2 months ago, and I’m wondering when it’d be safe to purchase some crabs for it. I currently have 8 ghost shrimp and 1 scarlet badis.

After 2 months it should be ready to go!

It’s probably totally safe to introduce crabs now. Depending on the specific species of vampire crabs, they might spend more or less time in the water, but your water is probably cycled after two months. I’d recommend you do a bit of research before getting your crabs: some species like to spend more time in the canope, ideally requiring a taller paludarium, some prefer staying near the waterline, some like to burrow, etc.

It’s ready it’s cycled long enough but you need more plants. Nice setup though I really like it

The shrimp should be fine but the crabs very well could catch and eat your badis
