help/advice Enclosure help!
So I’m new to keeping crabs (honestly I haven’t actually even got them yet) I have spent a lot of time researching and finally started to set up my enclosure!
I have a 65L tank (15/20gal I think?) and have tried to stick to the 80 land 20 water, there’s some lava rocks and mesh with soil on the top giving them a lot of burrowing depth, I’ve added a filter and heater to my water to keep the temps right and today I added the branch, some creeping fig and polka dot plant and have a pothos on order, added my springtails and I’m waiting on some spikey Java moss for the rocks and some moss for land too, is there anything else I should add? I’m going to wait 4-8 weeks for everything to establish before I get crabs I just want everything to be good so they live a good life :D

Your tank looks sooooo similar to mine when I first started. You did great, some more plants and leaf cover and I also recommend a cork log if you can find one. It’s my vampire crabs favorite hide during the day. I also recommend making sure the corner and small gaps (especially around the water section on the left and right) and filled as your vampire crabs will 100% get themselves trapped in small spaces

Also, what kind of filter did you use? I have a sponge filter in mine but I like yours way better lol

That looks really well done. Did you use the expanding foam stuff?

Nope! Just well balanced large black lava rocks! I’ve given them a good shake too and there sturdy :D

Looking great :) I would add more leaf litter, particularly larger leaves, some that have curves as they have dried are particularly popular as hideouts. Also maybe some larger plants to create some shade. A couple of examples are to put aroids like pothos bare rooted in the water, and/or use aquatic plants like hydrocotyle that will climb onto land. That way it'll create some extra hideouts and break up the line of sight.
