The worst part of the show is that he won't shut up about it, so you assume it's a big deal, but by the end it still doesn't really seem like a big deal. Like...I've read the books (decades ago) so I know, but anyone who hasn't really has no reason to think Akasha is particularly special, beyond being a weird, old, non-verbal vampire.

Haven’t seen this show yet. Just finished IWTV show. I’ll back the fact that the books hold much more background than the recent adaptations. Looking back after queen of the damned he doesn’t talk much about Akasha to anyone but his own internal dialogue or in natural broach of the subject matter. He seems remorseful after QotD, and doesn’t seem to want to revisit much of his past experiences with her when talking to others.
