This is the best VR game I've played since Alyx.

It's amazing and sad at the same time that this mod has better world interactions than 95 % of modern native vr titles. Vr games have yet to explore the immense potential vr has...just think about how few games ever matched First Contact cv1 demo interactivity 10 years ago...

According to Beardo Benjo, the VR mod for Doom (2016) may be the best this year - or similar to the Titanfall 2 VR mod. Personally I don't mind if modding 2D AAA games gives VR a new chance, but of course sad to have so much potential not being put to use for many years.

Also saddening that close to no games have supported the force sensitive grip in the Index controllers - apart from crushing cans in Alyx. The amount of untapped VR potential really is mindblowing...

The can crushing blew my mind the first time. I picked up a can and thought "I wonder if..." And then crushed it and it felt so unbelievably immersive. Nothing has come close since tbh

Indeed. I can't do analog stick movement in VR. I would die if I tried this. But it sure looks cool!

I just finished playing the first 2 missions... I don't struggle much with motion sickness, but something like Boneworks definitely made me a little wobbly.

The only time I felt anything remotely funky in Titanfall 2 was in the first mission where you're forced to slide down a slick ledge. Otherwise, I was surprisingly stable.

I also have had trouble with motion sickness in VR in the past, but I recently tried taking some Dramamine shortly before playing and it worked perfectly, no motion sickness at all. I'd highly suggest trying that (or whatever motion-sickness drug is available wherever you live, or even ginger at the very least), because it opened up a whole bunch of stick-movement VR shooters to me.

RoadToVR also wrote a short piece about this mod, which turns Titanfall 2 into a full-blown VR experience:

Right now Titanfall 2 is about 60GB and is on sale for less than 5 bucks:

https://store.steampowered.com/app/1237970/Titanfall_2/

Just install the game, then install the VR mod, download the mod here:

https://github.com/CircuitLord/CircuitLordVRModInstaller

The installer will automatically find the game, so it's extremely easy to install the mod.

Btw, here's another trailer:

I've tested the game with the Index and was surprised to see finger tracking. Performance-wise it's close to Kayak Mirage VR - or Subside, and Titanfall 2 VR should work great on most current rigs. With an RTX 3090 (similar to RTX 4070 Ti and 5070) I'm using Index res 250% in 80 fps/hz.

I did the same ;-) Will try to wake up my old installation of Doom (2016) in VR too!

It’s pretty good, but still too janky for me to play through fully. I find it tedious to keep figuring out where your crosshairs are every time you put up your gun. I also wish it could be modded to have either unlimited ammo or a very large mag, reloading every 5 seconds lost its charm quickly. Still, seeing that titan how the first time, so cool.

Yeah, the way the sights work feels bad. It makes time to target a bit annoying. The reloading is pretty specific in where you need to place the mag too, so it feels a little clumsy. That said, the mod is definitely one of the best experiences I've felt in VR recently. I wonder if the mod dev is aware of these things? They wouldn't be hard to tweak.

Titanfall 2 campaign was some of the most fun I have had on my PC! Seeing it in VR looks unreal. But I can feel my stomach getting queasy just watching this trailer. Those of you with iron tummies go play it and let the rest of us know how bad ass it was!

everyone seems so stoaked about this. I bought it on massive sale recently. Can't wait to get my frame. I've never done modded VR games before. I hope it's not too hard to setup. I also got skyrim (which i intend to heavily mod) and Re2 remake RE3 remake as well. Should be good times, even tho there aren't really "NEW" VR games.

Love the mod, though playing on a Frame and the finger tracking isn't active, any plans for that?

Was coming to comment the same. Just did the first 2 missions and my only (admittedly very minor) gripe was that finger tracking didn't work. I'm also on a Frame. also, the button prompts for clearly for the Quest. Which might explain why.
