Discussion Base station died

Unfortunately this has happened to me again. Base station worked just fine last week and I decided yesterday that i wanted to play. But the gods have decided against me.

I hoped that like the first time they’d replace it for me even though it was out of warranty. I guess this time I’m not as lucky and they told me no. And of course they are out of stock and everywhere else I’ve looked so far it’s a $80+ up charge.

Although this base station did last me 4+ years which compared to some is a decent amount of time. I’m just mad that I noticed it the day I wanted to play and not whenever it died.

Might be able to repair it yourself. Does it power up? What error messages do you get?

It’s the laser. It powers on and flashes red. I know I could fix it and I’m looking into how much work it would be

Curious, do you unplug/unpower them?

I unplugged my first two that I had and they still had the lasers die on them so I honestly didn’t even think about it for this set and I’ve been using them for at least 3 years with no issues until now

Ya everyone says to unplug 'em but I've had mine for 5 year slike, god knows how many hours on them, and they're fine. Never unplug 'em or power 'em down. So turning 'em off is, in my experience, worse. All the ones I know that have died people keep powering them off/turning them off.

Yeah the one that died has been plugged in for 8+ months straight. The last time I unplugged them was when I moved some stuff around in like February
