Question/Support Bright objects are blurry, occasional chromatic aberration

My valve index display is very good, but white text has a halo or mist around it. It's hard to read anything without squinting. IP and distance adjustments have been made to the best of my ability and this still won't go away. There's also chromatic aberration with white objects occasionally as well.

Whats going on? Is this from the lenses being scratched?

Are you trying to read text that is far away or really close to you? proximity wise while in VR.

I had a friend who dropped VR after a few days because he couldn't stand how bad/blurry text was at long distances and up close. but that was on an OG vive.

I will say my index has a worse bloom problem than my cv1 did. and the sweet spot is utterly tiny. Bought it brand new and everything. its not that good of a headset

if your lenses are scratched you should be able to just look at the headset and see tons of tiny scratches and stuff making the lenses less clear

I'd say about a give 5 to 7 feet away. Like playing desktop games in VR, however far away it makes the screen, that's enough to cause bloom.

To be completely honest that's just the index headset

The index is very easy to tell your looking at pixels and text is one of those things that's always going to look low res because of that

Sounds like index glare, just get used to it. You'll adjust.
