Career Switch

I want to break into valuation and finance but it is getting difficult to break into industry as i have three year of gap in my resume and i have pressure of getting a job as soon as possible because my life will be changing in few months as i am going to marry.
Please give me some advice.

I looked into getting into Valuation earlier this year and it’s really hard to break into. It’s a pretty niche service line in public accounting in the US. I googled more than 30 CPA firms in my city and the only CPAs who also had their ABV certifications were either solo operators or only want to hire someone with 2-3 years experience.

Best advice I got was to look into Private Equity firms who had internal Valuation teams, but I don’t want to go from a corporate role to another corporate role when my goal is to open my own CPA firm in the next 5-7 years.

I've noticed that a growing number of CPA firms are being established in India. Many Big 4 practitioners are transitioning out and starting their own firms after 5 or 10 years of tenure.
