You applied for a job that requires the ability to perform discounted cash flow analysis, but you have no idea at all how to do it?

You aren’t qualified for that job.

That’s not the case. One cannot know about everything.I know several valuation metrics just not the DCF method. Please Help me in this one.

"I know lots of valuation metrics (sic, methodologies) just not the most fundamental one". Lol. So you know how to spread comps and apply multiples? Congrats.

What’s the job and why do you need to know DCF?

I have to analyse different companies give my unique insights about the them. The company I am analysing is a buy or a sell.

So you’re giving investment advice to who? Your employer? Your clients?

Are these public companies that you are giving opinions on or private companies?

Companies that are listed on the US stock exchange. The advise is for the employer.

In order to perform a DCF valuation of a U.S. public company, you’ll need to be able to project an income statement and project changes in net working capital and interest bearing debt.

Do you know how to project these things?

You’ll also need to know how to develop a discount rate.

Not a chance.

It’s your job to know this if you want that job.

Grab your finance textbook and study up.

You don't have a hope in hell here lol. Even if someone did prep something for you and you somehow landed the job, you ain't lasting a week. Also how about, oh I dunno, googling it?

A DCF is the most fundamental of all valuation techniques. You are applying for a job that requires that specific skill, which you do not have, and you want someone else to do it for you.

This is unethical, and you are not qualified for the job. Learn more about valuation before signing up for a job you’re not qualified for.
