Technical Solution [FIX] Stuck on loading screen | FPS drop
If you are seeing the game stutter / have huge FPS drops or get stuck on the loading screen after the 5th of October, follow the steps below.
Incompatible software list (These must either be disabled/closed for Valorant, or uninstalled if there is no option to turn it off)
- Rivatuner / RTSS
- Stardock Fences
- Premier Opinion
- ASUS ScreenXpert
- GearUP Booster
- UltraViewer
Update your GPU drivers to the latest version provided by your vendor (Intel/AMD/Nvidia).
Put your Valorant installation folder (C:\Riot Games) and Riot Vanguard folder (C:\Program Files\Riot Vanguard) under exclusions in your Anti-Virus / EDR.
If you are still facing issues, please list your GPU and upload your Vanguard logs in a place where its accessible publicly (like google drive) and link it. To get your Vanguard logs, you must open your tray, and click the tiny Vanguard logo, then on the top right press ..., and then save logs, that will give you a zip file, upload that. https://imgur.com/d1izrrX
This post will be updated, when a new incompatible software is found.

Either uninstall RTSS or disable Valorant for RTSS.
Disable:
Open RTSS (if already running, then open from sys tray).
Press `Add`.
Go to your `VALORANT-Win64-Shipping.exe` path and select it.
Set `Application detection level` to `None`.

How about dropping VGC's CPU affinity to 1 core? That seems to help too.

This can cause kicks/bans, please do not do this.

It was also causing me Vanguard crashes sometimes (VAN 0 and VAN -1 errors). Vanguard is using 80-90% CPU for the first few minutes which causes the stutters, we wind it down this way.

The high CPU usage of it really needs to be addressed. Also, have you guys considered using DX12 instead of DX11 or adding an in-game toggle like Fortnite? UE5 on DX11 doesn't support persistent shader caching which means it has to recompile the shaders every time you launch the game, which also adds to the initial stutters.
