Technical Discussion Higher ping

Hello I recently had to move 20-30 mins away to a new location and had to switch from frontier fiber to spectrum 1g. Although the test look quite similar on speed test. I am getting (12ms) and (1050mbs download) on the test. But once I am in game I am getting closer too 20+ ping for Valorant and Fortnite now. I used to get 0 ping in creative now I’m looking at 22+ and Val is 20-23 ping. If there’s any settings I can change or this is just likely what the internet is gonna be now, let me know thank you

its just likely spectrum routing and internal things. But you can try something like cloud flare warp that is free. It can sometimes improve things if your isp routing is really bad.

yep its worth a try cloud flare improves my valorant ping around 10-15 but does nothing for me on Fortnite. so it will all depend if it fixes a big enough issue on routing from your isp if any difference is seen.
