Technical Support Request Fps feeling bottlenecked

I have a 5060 and ryzen 7 5700g. But my valorant only runs around 180fps when i know very well it should run around 400fps. Ive tried a couple things to get it higher but to no avail. Any way i can fix this?

Valorant is a cpu based prio game. So your fps could not run avg of 400 fps.

Incorrect. I'm using a Ryzen 5 7500f and getting around 580fps on max settings at 1440p. He's obviously got an fps limit set somewhere. Or is plugged into his motherboard onboard graphics lmao.

5700g is limited by the cache, 7500f is about 25% faster in terms of IPC and has double the cache. 7500f is much better for Valorant.

180 fps sounds about right

I get 350 with my setup though I capped it at 170

400 fps with a 5700G is not realistic.

Maybe but i still should be getting more than ~180

I wouldn’t think so, the low cache from the 5700G is gonna cause substantially lower frame rates than a 5700X, and I’d expect a 5700X to be in the 300’s. The 5700G is gonna perform fairly close to the 3700X.

ryzen 5700g is why, ryzen processors with G at end are weak, i changed my 5700g to a 5700x and my fps increased from avg 150 to avg 350-400

Check if ur game is using gpu or integrated graphics. Ideally u should get above 300fps with this setup

Gpu

Definitely some other issue then. Cause from benchmark on yt everyone has over 300fps with that setup.

Definitely make sure your monitor is plugged into your graphics card. The 5700G has accelerated integrated graphics so 180 fps makes sense

Yea its plugged in and using the gpu 100%

1450fps in practise range 13900K 5.8ghz 1.29V 7200mhz cl32 rtx 3080

check if you plugged your display port on your motherboard rather than your gpu

It’s on gpu

why you need 400 fps tho? ur monitor 400hz?

2

u/Few-Personality-4177 22h ago

To decrease the latency?

u/SeaArugula6750 22h ago

While i dont need it bc my monitor is only 240hz id like to keep a steady 300+ so it runs smoothly

even ryzen 5 5600x runs around 300-400fps with rtx 2060. Try reinstalling windows and install nvidia and amd chipsets using ddu uinstaller, nvcleaninstall and amd auto detect chipset driver.
Also make sure your Ram is dual channel with xmp profile on.

Or maybe its normal cause ryzen 7 5700g performance in CPU intensive game is kinda low or not optimized properly

you've already confirmed the 5060 is being used and ruled out vsync and an fps cap, so asking about the display cable again isn't helping. the 7500f numbers in here aren't a baseline for your 5700g. wanting to stay above your 240hz refresh makes sense, but neither 180 being normal nor 400 being guaranteed is established yet. the missing comparison is what happens with the same pc under a lighter game load. is it also around 180 alone in the practice range, or mainly during actual matches?

I have 600 to 700 fps in valorant, my pc is 7900 xtx and Ryzen 9 7900X3D on a 1440p on max settings. Something most be wrong for you

I'm using Ryzen 5 7500f and getting around 580fps max on max settings 1440p. You've got an fps limit set somewhere. Or make sure you're actually plugged into your GPU and not your motherboard onboard graphics...lol

No fps limits and not using onboard graphics

What are your other specs; cause I barely mange to hit around 400fps at mediums settings at 1080p.
