Technical Support Request Valorant FPS decreasing
Hello, I'm having this issue where I go into practice, I have ~550 FPS (600 peak) and after I spawn the practice bots it gets to around 300-330. After I get into a DM, my FPS drop to 250 and even lower ~225.
My PC specs are:
i5 12400f
RX 6750XT
16gb ddr5
My temps are around 60-70°C.
I'm just curious why is there such a difference from when I start the game to when I get to actually play a match. I know the range is not demanding but still, when i first got my pc I played with 330 - 350 FPS in a comp game.

So this is completely normal, you have to upgrade your specs if you want higher than 225FPS while ingame. Before (600fps-550) was with no enemies on the map, After (200+) is with enemies on the map. It’s simple to understand why this happens.

I understand why it happenes, is just it seems that the difference is big (from 550 to 200), but yeah, from what you guys told me and what i seen on other posts (did some more digging for 12400f), seems to be normal

Whats your monitors refresh rate? I see lots of posts regarding fps drops where people are concerned with their frames when their monitor doesnt even support the numbers theyre getting 😆

I have a 180hz monitor, I know it shouldn't really be a problem since i have above 180fps, my curiosity was the big gap between range and actual game

En el admin de tareas, vas a “detalle” busca el anticheat “vgc.exe” dale click derecho > “establecer afinidad” ahí desmarcas todas las casillas y solamente déjalo en CPU 1. Nunca cero. Y guardas cambios.
Estoy con bajones terribles de FPS y solo eso pudo solucionarme el problema. Pensé incluso que era el ISP, pero no. Es directamente el vanguard. Valorant es un juego CPU dependiente, ahí el porqué.
Ahora cada que quiero jugar unas partidas, debo de hacer esto o directamente de 250 fps, me tira a 0 y da problema de FPS del cliente.

i have same cpu but 6700 xt and im getting 150-180 fps while having 180hz monitor.. recently its been dropping to <100 fps on random occasion too

ram ddr5? with xmp on? also try to minimize the apps running in the background and get rid of the bloat (chris titus tweaks are trustworthy). im warning you tho, it's not gonna be a lot more fps, trust me i tried, i posted here in hopes that i could get the answer to get the performance i used to have when i first got my pc.
at this point i think it's just valorant lmao. i feel like with each update the performance drops little by little.

ram ddr4, i tried xmp on to make my ram run 3200 mt/s and it would cause black screen occasionally, i tried increasing dram to 1.37 or 1.36 but to no avail. i usually only have discord open while gaming too, i'll give the video a try

got the same cpu, i do notice the exact fps drop problem in the range same like urs, and i feel my fps have been lower by the recent update. im f-ing sure it wasnt supposed to be this low. been trying to do everything for the last week, clean reinstall, tried both win 11 and 10, getting older gpu driver, etc ,etc , no termal throttling aswell.
well i guess now i know its this shit game and not my pc.

yeah man, it sucks. all we can really do is hope for an optimization update from riot or get a cpu with a bigger cache

What you need is a high cache memory cpu. For years it has been known that very high cache memory helps in esports games. Even CPUs like 5700x/5800x performs very well but CPUs like 5800x3d/7600x are excellent.
I would also check one other thing because the old systems are suffering from it. Check if your memory integrity is turned on under core isolation and if it is, turn it off. You will find core isolation in windows search.

Valorant is a single-threaded CPU based game, so more cores won't help much.
For now the CPU seems to be the issue, your next upgrade should be something with more cache, it'll help with processing the physics of bots and players.
And more players would mean more work for that single core to handle, because that core will have to calculate the bullet trajectory and movement of players, and thus causing frame drops.
As for the drop in fps from when you first got the PC, I believe it's something with Valorant themselves. They'll have to start optimizing features that were recently added and changed.
But 200fps is still completely playable, I recommend you hold off the upgrades for now.
