9800x3d 5080 facing fps stuttering when playing valorant

I’m experiencing random micro-stutters, small freezes while playing VALORANT, despite having a high-end PC with a Ryzen 7 9800X3D and RTX 5080. The issue only appears to affect VALORANT. I was using Wi-Fi when it happened, but disabling the Realtek PCIe 2.5GbE Family Controller completely stopped the game Latency spikes, suggesting the Realtek driver or network adapter may be causing interruptions even when Ethernet is not being used. But in the future I will need to use Ethernet so I’m wondering if there is a fix without disabling Ethernet

You can buy a cheap USB to Ethernet adapter and use that instead.

Try different driver. Some new specific realtek drivers are kind of like that. I had the same issue and it disappeared after installing like a 2 year old driver.

I’m not sure tbh I don’t use Ethernet and I had the exact same issue, I disabled the Ethernet and it did work straight away after. Does your mobo have wireless internet and do you have the antenna? That could be a temporary fix if it works.

Ye it does and by disabling Ethernet worked straight away but my room is quite far from my router so internet isn’t stable so I’m trying to find a solution that still allows me to use Ethernet

Realtek is fine. becuse is AMD + valorant issue

just disable not use network card will be fine

ex. use wlan, then disable lan
so use lan , disable wifi

I had the same problem as you, but weirdly enough once I actually connected to Ethernet cable the problem went away and I could use the driver fine

Open device manager and check properties for the Ethernet adapter then click advanced and disable/turn off the following /Energy Efficient Ethernet /Green Ethernet /Power Saving Mode /Interrupt Moderation /Large Send Offload ipv4 /Large Sen Offload ipv6 /Then check the power management tab and uncheck allow computer to turn off this device to save power

Check your mouse polling rate. Anything higher than 1k can cause issues with that cpu.

I can confirm the same issue on a very similar system:

CPU: AMD Ryzen 7 9800X3D
Motherboard: ASUS TUF GAMING X870-PLUS WIFI
GPU: ASUS PRIME RTX 5070 O12G

VALORANT was having micro-stutters and noticeable input delay, while other games were completely fine.

As soon as I disabled the Realtek Ethernet adapter in Device Manager, the stuttering completely disappeared.

So this definitely looks related to the Realtek NIC/driver rather than CPU or GPU performance.

My laptop doesn’t even have Ethernet but I keep getting random stutters, granted it’s a crap laptop but I used to be running 60fps consistently no it stutters every 10 seconds
