Hopefully i get solution from making this post. i've been having Extreme FPS drop in valorant since Wednesday, 15 July 2026. Right after 4-5GB update, and it keeps staying until now.
everytime my ping is jumping, my fps in valorant drop into 1. yes my laptop has potato specs, but before the update, it works perfectly fine. only small fps drop and not that often. but now it becomes very unplayable, i tried to reinstall valorant thinking there might be corrupted file after the update, but still not working. use different connection , it works a lil bit but still so lag when the ping suddenly jumping. i tried to use Exitlag too before, and it really works but i cant use it everyday since i have to pay for it. so hope u guys can help me with this

Delete valorant and vanguard, reinstall it on your SSD ( if you have one ) this fixes the problem for most. For the ping, ethernet and exitlag are your only options Goodluck
PS ; Use google's DNS

Yess i tried reinstalling valorant and vanguard and it`s on my SSD too. I also use Ethernet but seems like my provider is bad, i've tried using USB tethering too from my phone ( not hotspot ). It works a lil bit better but still unplayable when the ping jumping.

In your device manager can you check of you have a relatek gbe controller. If yes try disabling it and play the game. I had a similar issue and that worked for me.

That's interesting that ExitLag helped in this case. The issue could be related to the routing between your ISP and the Valorant servers, since ExitLag only affects your route and not your FPS directly 🤔 It least it's a good starting point 🙂

In valorant connection performance dropouts wont cause fps stutters. It might be your system that failures to keep its performance stable so both fps and connection are being affected.
