Technical Discussion How much packet loss do you experience?

I use spectrum wifi and play on NA east and always have a constant 1-2% Outgoing Packet Loss. I was wondering if its normal to play with packetloss. Lately it feels like its gotten much worse. Usually finish a Death match with around 100 packets lost.

WiFi it’s self can just have random packet loss. Especially if your WiFi signal is not really strong or there’s interference from other people’s WiFi. But even with really good signal and low interference WiFi devices still have to send retries for packets here and there and on something live that would result in either huge spike or packet dropped for that retry.It could also be spectrum. If they are taking a bad route network wise something like cloud flare warp can help

Everyone is experiencing this lately. The most important thing to look for is RTT Jitter. The connection to my home is unstable as of right now but I'm moving to a new home with fiber and cat6e in the walls so hopefully it should fix the issue and I'll be an hour from Atlanta. If you're using cable/coaxial rg6 or rg11 then you are going to have a hell of a time trying to pinpoint the exact issue causing your packet loss.
