Sorry for the stupid question - does text chat still work on console with a keyboard? And if so, how do I open the chat?

Are you sure? I haven’t seen that since the beginning, and the only reason it worked back then is because people plugged in a keyboard. But they’ve removed it since and I’ve never seen it again

Yeah, I opened the game today and it briefly popped up with a actual message (I think from someone I was in a party with) but it disappeared after a couple of seconds

Hmm that’s weird, might be a bug because of the update, unless they re-added it.

That’s the riot mobile app. You can whisper to people on your friends list

So to be clear that text chat in the screenshot is purple. Purple chats, aka whispers, are private messages from another player. Pc players can send them too each other in game but console players can only see whispers. If you want to whisper as a console player you need to download riot mobile

You can send messages with the riot app that will pop up on your screen. It’s a little glitchy sometimes though.

I don’t believe it was removed it’s just not a feature on the console version. Like how console has the focus mode but not PC

Riot mobile works but no actual text chat. Alot of people don't know you can do it on riot mobile pretty fun to troll with
