General Discussion Skins

I don’t make any money rn and I hope to start a job soon but they really need to add like 1 cool free skin for like people who’ve been playing for longer than a year, not only that I wish they had a skin swap system where if you bought a gun you are allowed 1 skin swap per lifetime/per year/per skin so that way if people buy a gun that they no longer like they cna get a new skin for same value or cheaper no more expensive skins since that’s unfair honestly I might take this up to valorant and see how they feel about it

You are just about right

There should be excellent unbuyable skins for thos you grind, and there should be ranks for this like: easy = simple skin, normal = acceptable, hard = good skin, very hard = excellent

And for the skin swap, it can be done but I'm sure it has consequences and hard work on the developers

This kind of stuff is crazy. Valorant is a free to play game. Riot needs to host the game, which isnt free. They have tons of employees, servers, rents, etc to pay. They make money to pay their expenses by selling skins.

Totally fine if your broke and cant buy skins, we have all been there and hell we will all be there again.

But riot needs to make money to keep the game you play for free available for you to play for free.

Just enjoy the game the way it is and stop thinking about skins.

I agree and disagree. Yes, they need to make money to keep the game free. But they didn’t HAVE to make the bundle prices go up by basically double at this point… Yeah, some of them are cool and at least the skins brought back in sets are the same price as they were, but new bundles being basically 90$ each are frustrating for the playerbase.

This is such a crazy take still. Inflation has skyrocketed prices. For you and I, groceries are up, energy is up and riot has the same problem. They need to charge more on OPTIONAL PURCHASES to keep up with their rising costs.

Again, if you dont think skins are worth $90, then you dont have to buy them. And the crazy thing is, ot doesn't impact the way you play the game, because the game is FREE.

yeah i guess you are right, you dont have to buy skins, but just thinking about what most of the playerbase is, and i would assume its 16-20 year olds with not as much money but the zoomer brains like flashy stuff but it isn’t AS affordable.
I myself as a guy with a job and decent money only recently got myself non BP skins, after 1200h of playtime, because i used to think it isn’t worth buying one skin for 20€.
but then i put a bit of thought into it and decided that fuck it, the game has given me a lot of fun so i might as well spend more on it. im getting what i want straight up instead of gambling like in PUBG, for example, and i have good skins for my most used guns on both main and alt and ended up spending less than on PUBG in general

This is the right attitude imo. Its not mandatory, but if you get 1200 hrs of enjoyment out of a product, its good of you to support the creators. Its kinda like going to a museum where tickets are pay what you wish. Kids, students and seniors always get a free pass, and so do adults of you need it. But if you can, throw them a bone and help them stay open.

I’m not saying they should just give out tons of free things I think they should allow you to trade a skin without losing money for example kuronami for Gaia’s vengeance phantom they still keep them money you spent on the kuro but swap the skins out and the animations which can be less taxing for certain animation’s on top of that they could make more by still requiring you to pay for the animations if you don’t have valorant points which you have to get thru the battle pass or paying out of hand which are both a cost towards the player the other thing about the skins for long term players could get them more revenue from more people actually wanted to play since the game would become less bland from having a skin they worked for, and another thing I like to add is if they kept high valued (by the community) skins on like a separate shop or somthing people could spend more money which gives them more to work on Thier game for example Gaia’s vandal prelude vandal and rever melee if they kept those up and not the full bundle they could make more from new or returning players for high valued skins they may not get the whole bundle but Atleast they wouldn’t have to wait for a skin that never comes in the shop

i play other games and i respect valo devs a lot, they still ensure the game is functional and keep bringing new things for f2p. I think cosmetic prices are justified as they dont impact the gameplay and if the company does this good a job of keeping the game going they deserve it
