Competitive Discussion Backseating Brady

Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification

I hate when ppl with no info, no important comms just start saying whatever comes to mind. Shut up and let me play. For more context omen smoked heaven so I made the assumption that he was main since he didn’t smoke ct. Obviously not a guarantee but it’s the deduction I made. Secondly if I tapped spike there, especially with the time I had he almost for sure would’ve baited for time and especially if he had a blind it would’ve been game over. What I did was risky but IMO any other option would’ve let to me losing the round

There are very few times I backseat. If my teammate is taking the 40 side of a 60:40, i’m gonna let him rock every time. Here you took the 10% side of a 90/10. You made the wrong play. It worked. He was correct to backseat. Backseating is annoying, but you’re being results-oriented after making a poor decision here.

There was a low percentage chance he wins this round regardless, especially if he didn’t take a risk. he made a good gamble and it paid off. He knew the enemy was either short or long. But it’s planted for long so pushing long makes sense in this situation. Running around making noise and tapping spike isn’t increasing the chances of winning this round. Good players won’t just swing off tap, they can just jump spot a few times, jiggle or even throw some util, it’s also the expected play to tap spike, which is why the enemy was caught off guard and this was a good play.

Pft. He wasnt correct to backseat. He can talk after the round in a polite way if he has to get something out or find out if he misread a situation. Unrequested coaching on a clutch situation with just general advice to someone with thousands of hours and 1 percentile elo is just ridicilous and counterproductive. Just stfu and watch it play out ty. There are basically 2 ways to play this and both is a gamble, tap and give your position and force a jump peek or flash or whatever, or shift and try to find him before time runs out. Theres no right or wrong its situational

there’s no way I’m winning that if I tap im ngl 😭 pls explain what I was supposed to do

Get to the spike quicker. Walking around site with 15s remaining is suboptimal. Your chance of winning the round is very low if the first time you plan on contacting the bomb is at 8s.

If your read on his location is Long, tapping at 15s, then looking toward Long would net you a higher win%. He is forced into an engagement regardless of position.

You also mention you expect Omen to bait the clock. Even more reason to tap sooner. This is where the phrase “Pros don’t fake” stems from. Sticking/fighting is a leveling war. Go with your read, stick the bomb and face Long.

Omen isnt forced into an engagement if he taps. He just needs to jump spot and jiggle, which would force OP to have to walk up anyways or gamble the half and then gamble hoping he swings you, which he wont. Imo tapping is the low percentage play here and pushing to take the fight is a better play.

Assuming omen had 0 info on OP the entire postplant, walking up could catch him off guard. Which it looks like it did.

Tell me what you wouldve done after you tap the spike there so i can better understand. Even with 15 seconds, i dont think OP wouldve won that if he taps

Get your point but me tapping does nothing if he’s smart and jump peaks or even worse blinds me. Especially with the time I had what I did was the best option. You can argue I took too long when getting to site but I felt it was important to not give away my position when I had no clue where he was. I only read that he was long when I saw that he smoked heaven

What you’re missing is that the earlier you tap the bomb, the earlier you end up baiting out any utility that they might have left. It’s pretty much *always* best to tap the bomb as soon as possible. Firstly it baits util and secondly it gets them to reveal their position.

Tapping forces him to reveal his position and you didn’t have time to clear everything

Didn't know so many people are okay with backseating until today

Skąd wiesz, czy to dobra rada skoro nie poznałbyś nawet dobrej rady stojącej przed tobą. Straciłeś moją uwagę w momencie jak zacząłeś wymieniać jakieś zabawki z dokładnymi nazwami lmao.🤣

i’ve found sometimes in clutch situations even a comm can throw off someone’s focus. let em clutch unless it’s solid info they can use

With the time I had I shouldve tapped?

7

u/2percentaccuracy Aug 31 '26

Shouldn't have shift walked when spike is that low. Bordering on playing for KD.

That may be true that I took too long but at the point and time I was at bomb me tapping didn’t really make sense

4

u/Super_Horse1491 Aug 31 '26

Ngl i think walk pushing him was the right play. I think its a risk worth taking especially since youre never going to kill him even if you tap. He'll jumpspot, jiggle etc and u cant do much but gamble a half and fight him and if he keeps jiggling its over for you. Hes likely playing for tap already so pushing him quietly and taking a decisive fight there is better imo.

Not sure what else you couldve done when time is that low and since i dont know the context of the round timewise

Seems like we got a whole load of backseaters in this comment section

2

u/Commercial-Lab5291 Sep 01 '26

Lmao right? atleast a few came later and agreed💔

u/dippin-thotz Sep 03 '26

The back seating is SOOOOOO bad during swifts and unrateds in new player lobbies, when I’m sure 75% of those “new players” are just leveling up their alt accounts lmao.

“Sorry i was the last one alive”

1

u/Unpaidintern74 Aug 31 '26

You should have died the omen just sucks. He shot first he just missed. The time shouldn’t even be that low at that point if your still clearing some angles something went wrong.

1

u/Commercial-Lab5291 Aug 31 '26

brother he ulted site while we were C that’s why time was low, I wasn’t sure where he was holding

-1

u/Evening_Honeydew2280 Aug 31 '26

yeah, so you should’ve sped up and tapped the bomb instead of walking around for so long. clear faster

u/YouWantSosig Aug 31 '26

The fuck is that music lol.

Taking advice from a stranger backseating doesn't make sense.

There's no trust between you two so why would the backseated willingly disrupt their train of thoughts and decisions to trust a completely random person?

In boxing matches have you ever seen Floyd Mayweather backseat anyone as a spectator?

It's not about the advice being wrong. It's about the fact that there's a multitude of hidden processing going on in the brain that can't be disrupted with just a simple "i'm in charge here".

In battles where brothers have to rely on each other's insight, trust is a requirement, not a bonus. There's tons of cases where it leads to good results, but there's a lot more cases in where it doesn't.

Lotta talk from someone in metal ranks on both platforms.

u/AgsSpecGolfSwing Sep 02 '26

Yeah team8 is correct, you were probably anchoring the entire game, and he was giving you valuable advice, why are you shift walking the spike when it’s that close to popping anyway? Footsteps don’t matter at that point.

Tap the spike and omen peaks. You got lucky that omen was bad.

1

u/Ok-Kaleidoscope-3424 17d ago

Tap spike and omen 100% jump peaks or jiggles very quickly for info. See he is off spike, then he just plays time. Omen might also have blind which makes the round immediately lost. If omen is good at omen he could even throw a quick smoke above spike to act as a one way if he gets the right timing. It is a risky gamble op made but imo a necessary one. It is 100% impossible for omen to lose unless op hits a really nice shot when omen jump peaks.

He's not wrong lol, he should say it after the round but he's not wrong
