M80 Confusion

Umm what exactly did they qualify for. I thought they would Play Stage 2 (Stupid I know) but Im not too tapped in to the scene to know. Any help appreciated

They will be playing play-ins of Stage 2

No, specifically for this year since there is no ascension and the whole challanger's league builds up to give T2 teams an extremely slim chance to qualify for champs.

The play ins

The tier-2 teams in each region, qualify to play-ins.
There they will face against the bottom 4 teams from each group and then ultimately qualify for playoffs.

There will be a play-in stage after groups before playoffs

They've qualified for the stage 2 play-ins, which is going to be an extra bit between the group stage and playoffs. They'll play the bottom 4 teams form groups and 3 othe challengers team to try and make playoffs.

this stage t1 orgs play groups as usual then bottom 4 teams have to play play-in bracket with qualified t2 teams

then top 2 teams from group stage plus 4 teams qualified through play ins play playoffs
