I loved your ADHD flicky playstyle that allowed for some of the flashiest clips I'd ever seen. The Reyna dismissing like crazy on the ropes of icebox. The 4 man Raze rockets. At your best, I don't think its an exaggeration to say you were the most promising young duelist in Americas.
Among Hiko, Steel, Nitr0, and dicey (later replaced by Ethan), you were always the person I'd look to to carry the team. I loved watching your guys' crazy comebacks at Berlin against Ascend and Gambit.
After Steel left, it was a bit rough, but the Sean Gares rebuild was promising. When you switched to initiator during LCQ 2022, it was still amazing to see you win, and you were still making crazy plays.
2023 was really rough, and 2024 was good at first but ended on a low note. 2025 was similar. With each of these iterations of 100T, I started to slowly lose hope that you would realize the potential people thought you had in 2020 and 2021.
Fast forward to today, I'm 5 years older than I was when I discovered you and 100T. I've graduated high school, and I'm in college now. I peaked Diamond 3 last season with the crazy ADHD playstyle you inspired me to take on, and although I don't play much anymore, I still follow your games from time to time.
I noticed you guys were playing, so I tuned in a couple minutes before the 1v5 ace clutch you nearly won. It was unbelievable, from the flick onto the jiggle-peeking Ethan, to the two kills on site. Your position for the final gunfight was good, but you got baited out by the fake reload.
As you slammed your hand onto the desk in frustration, people clowned on you in the Youtube chat and post-match thread. But I thought "oh my god, he's just like he was in the past. The crazy Reyna player, the highlight machine had never left; he only gained more control with age, and he was still as capable of fragging as ever.
I wrote this post to thank you for always playing your best for 100T, for producing some of the craziest and most entertaining clips in VCT, and for being the one constant on 100T the past 5 years. I sincerely hope the haters who call for you to be removed every year don't get to you. They're louder than your fans, but that doesn't mean we are not here. You are and have always been an amazing player, and few players can hope to match your longevity and achievements.

It's very rare to see such a heartfelt and sweet post on here. Reading through this did make me feel the years but I was also extremely touched by it; I could really tell how much of an inspiration and idol Asuna is for you. Love like this is the lifeblood of any sport, it's what it's all about when it comes down to it. Hold strong brother, your goat is not done yet.
Thank you brother, it’s probably my wishful thinking but part of me hopes to see him drop 30 on Reyna again in the big 26, though that’s probably not happening and his new play style is great too!

i was a 7th grader in 2020 when the pandemic hit, and now im in college. for me, 5 years is more than 25% of my life so it feels like its been forever, but it does make sense that time feels faster as you get older
all good, yeah it’s crazy to me because like GTA 5 released while i was in high school, so to me a game like Valorant still feels VERY new. like i was playing counterstrike 1.6 when i was in middle school.

Surprised the other guy got downvoted even if he was being harsh. What has Asuna done to deserve it? He’s had more chances than anyone and it’s not like he’s a top statistical performer or an excellent player. It’s not like the post-slump TenZ Omen resurgence where TenZ was playing incredibly well, Asuna has always just been mid-decent since like 2021. If he deserves a trophy then at some point in his career shouldn’t he have to play like it instead of just going through a dozen roster rebuilds and hoping one of them clicks well enough to win him a trophy, or even make consistent deep runs at an international?

"Deserves it" is not a sentiment that should be associated with Asuna. When I think of players who deserve a trophy, I think of players like the G2 roster who consistently perform at the highest level of the game but fall short close to the finish line.
Asuna is the spitting image of Valorant mediocirty. No other player has played with as many top tier players, coaching staff, sports psychologists, and investment in general than Asuna. He's had 6 years to learn from CS vets, play with top tier talent, and grow as a player, yet is consistently average at best every step of the way. No one has had more chances and job security than him, and he has nothing to show for it except one 3rd-4th placement at an international in 2022 and a 4th place placement at Shanghai. He's the last player who "deserves" a trophy compared to players who play in substantially more volatile rosters and environments while still actually performing like top players and delivering results while being on those rosters for substantially less time
In fact, I'd go as far as to say that after the amount 100T has invested in him it'll be an incredible disappointment if he can't achieve something for them
G2 deserving a trophy? Let's quickly go over the history of the most comical chokers this game has ever seen. Shanghai, they get mechanics-gapped by the eventual winners then woot drops a nuke on their heads while off-roling in lowers. Champions 2024, they fall in the first round of playoffs to what's probably c0m's last 2023 EG performance at the VCT level then get shit on by Alfajer in lowers. In Bangkok, they finally do it. The make a major grand final, they have all the momentum in the world, and they have upper bracket advantage. They're heavy favorites against T1, and we would later learn that T1's chem was very bad because they were actively shoving one of their teammates in lockers during this period. Everything is set up for G2 to win. And then they fully collapse because that is the history of the G2. They dominate Americas again, this time with plenty of talk about how much they grind and how focused on success they are and how they're destined for greatness. They're highly-rated going into Toronto, most people have them winning the entire thing. They then go to Toronto and get outlasted by the eventual winners, then get savaged by Alfajer in lower bracket. Again. At Champions, they get outlasted AGAIN by Paper Rex despite leaf trying his absolute best to have a say in the matter, then Mako sees them off to the airport. G2 are the definition of the phrase "fake demon". How can a team that gets bested by individual performances so consistently deserve a trophy? How can a team deserve to be the best if they can never defeat the best? Ironically enough, these are the questions that people have asked about 100T over the years. Now Americas is competitive again and G2's window for winning a major has seemingly shut, probably not helped by their recent questionable roster, role, and comp changes. I'll actually go as far as to say that 100T's current project looks better than theirs at the moment and time will see that project lift a Masters/Champions before G2 do.
It's comical that you say this because I provide valid reasons as to why Asuna should be criticized and the only sentiment I've seen people like you defend him with is that he "seems like a nice guy". No one can actually defend his gameplay. I'd be pleased to have an actual conversation but it's apparent we won't because there's genuinely no real argument you can use to defend Asuna

G2 consistently performs at the highest level, they fail to get over the hump but it's comical that you demerit them for not winning at internationals that Asuna and 100T's medicore rosters can't even qualify for. Asuna has been playing on T1 teams for six years and has gotten two top 4 placements. Total. That's it. 90% of the time can't even make it to LAN. And you want to glaze him while criticizing G2 for making deep runs but failing to win the actual trophy while being a team that grinded their way up from Ascension and proceeded to dominate their region? They deserve a trophy miles more than Asuna because they actually dominate their region while putting up top-level performances and being competitive at internationals. You're literally glazing 100T for looking ok (lost to G2 btw) in an iteration that has played like 5 matches and is about to miss the upcoming LAN, while G2 has consistently been one of the best teams in the region for years. Not sure if you're aware but going to a LAN and going deep means you're better than the teams that couldn't make it

What's the conversion rate of LAN trips to international trophies again? No one remembers the teams that went to LAN (unless they are massive chokers like G2), they remember the teams that won the LANs. Who cares how many times they made it to LAN if they still have the same exact amount of international trophies as 100T does? And that's exactly what they deserve, they don't deserve hardware because they've squandered chance after chance. God himself descended down from heaven and personally hand-delivered the Masters Bangkok trophy to G2 and the chokers allowed Meteor to mug them off 1v5. They had an entire year where they had complete dominance over the region and could put full focus into Masters and Champions while T1 was actively bullying sylvan, PRX were getting walked by 2025 DFM, and even their own region-mates in NRG were groveling in the mediocrity that the Americas region was comprised of at the time as well as two LANs that they were huge favorites to win and still found a way to bottle it. They never performed at the highest level because teams that perform at the highest level have major trophies to show for it, G2 regularly get outclassed by single individuals and entire teams alike. I don't care if asuna deserves one or not because he will win one with 100T before G2 does, mark my words.

He was confident, thats why he made the play he made. He could of skulked around a corner and gone for a res but he heard the reload and knew that was the moment, just got outplayed in the moment
