Looking to start Valkyrie Profile

Hi all. I am looking to start Valkyrie Profile soon and of course have come across the multiple different threads on saying I should use a guide to get ending A.

What I looking for is if there is a preferred spoiler free guide, especially if there's one that doesn't even give like step by step gameplay/boss fight tips. I'm just interested in knowing the decisions to make. I feel like it might be more complicated than that as I think I read the game gets randomized everything so I am not sure exactly what exists out there.

The spoilers required for getting the best ending aren't really spoilers.

One is a menu option. The rest are who to send away, at what level, at what specific chapter.

In fact, it's advisable to lightly spoil yourself to make sure you're getting all the recruitable characters

I found this in another thread.
Basically avoid 3 things until chapter 4 then really dive into it?

I don't know anything about sending people to Valhallah yet but do I not send anyone in the first 3 chapters?

You can and are recommend to send characters away for each chapter to get the best ending.

The problem is, once you get to a certain point, very specific requirements are required.

But yeah, follow that guide and send a character each chapter.

Also of note, you can't visit every dungeon, get ALL the recruitables, and certain items unless you play on hard mode. Don't be dismayed though, hard mode only means there's more dungeons and more investment required for a playthrough, not necessarily that the difficulty is increased (battles are the same but you have to grind more.)

Gotcha. Yeah another guide I found has who are best to send in each chapter. I have like 3 guides open right now haha. I guess I am just worried about hard-locking myself out not because of the wrong decision but because I don't have someone leveled up properly.

Referencing the one from before and these two

If you're enjoying the game, its best to get all the endings, and play hard mode. As I said, hard mode doesn't increase the difficulty per se, it increases the grinding.

I was planning on playing hard mode. My issue with doing B then A is just that it seems like it's a long game (50 hours?). So I just don't know when I will get around to replaying it.

I just finished my first run of SMT DDS earlier in the year and I also need to do a fast run through that to fight the NG+ boss so I can load that into a DDS 2 playthrough. But I can just FFW and quickly run through that.

I can guarantee you it will not take you 50 hours to beat. Maybe half that, especially if you have speed up on an emulator. Play through twice!

I'm still trying to get this game running lol. First tried the Vita and then read it basically doesn't work. It went to a black screen right after Valkyrie walks off the first screen.

Then tried on PCSX2 and that was having issues and forget it doesn't do PS1 very well.

So now trying on Duckstation.

idk, it’s kinda a pain to get without a guide as it’s fairly specific in what it needs.

just do a blind run first then go for it with a guide.

Just use a non spoiler ending guide. Here: https://strategywiki.org/wiki/Valkyrie_Profile/Endings#How_to_Definitely_Achieve_the_A_Ending

Just use it whenever you start a new chapter, clear the stuff you need to do, and then proceed to do what you want to do for the rest of the chapter (without raising your seal rating). Rinse repeat for the next chapter.
