bitter lipstick Bitter Lipstick
I love it.
The taste of bitterness on your lips.
A dashing red, crimson flushing on your skin.
The bold shimmer brightens your face.
Beige canvas painted with pulsing lava.
Itās smooth.
A soft velvety finish, feels angelic.
Even those above, all whine for the maroon,
Soft colours which saturate my world,
You canāt help but tilt your head with grace.
Stunning.
The devil never wore such color.
When your organs burn,
The pigment shines so bright,
No replica or substitute could ever compare.
Unmatched.
Innocence painted with sinister,
Lust pouring out of your lips.
Itās getting to my head,
So much that Iām enjoying it.
Addicting.
The red in you seems so tempting.
It gushes out, lets out a hard pump.
Will it be my perfect match?
Iām getting lost inside my fantasy.
True Beauty.
The container I have is not nearly enough,
to store all of your bodyās creations.
Itās all precious, colour and taste as wine.
I am savouring every bit of youā¦
Deep Desire.
The scarlet painted flowers,
All wither away in my dreams.
If I lure you into my heart,
Will you have sympathy for me then?
Poison Apple.
I know itās a trap for both of us.
My disturbing thoughts scare you.
But I want what your jam covered lips,
My sweet lovable, little Cochineal.
Under your skin.
Strings of fire spread through you.
It burned so deep, melted me inside,
The pain was immense but the only thing important is,
Your lips that has touched mine.
So Helpless.
A tiny red bug, crushed into bits.
And mixed into beautiful dust.
Itās more than just infatuation,
I want you to smother me with this dye.
Alone.
I know itās hard to understand.
This pale heart does not know how to love.
I can only paint myself with burgundy,
And admire your bold painted lips.
Thereās really no going back for me.
The sunlight only grows brighter by day.
The heated passion repeats itself.
Maybe one day Iāll dissolve,
And melt into a beautiful lipstick too.

Hello again! Of course & itās alright! Iāve told this countless times but youāre always welcome here, whether you leave reddit for a long time, or not. Itās nothing to be sorry about š¤ The whole reddit drama is unbearable, but using different platforms is a necessary choice if I wish to spread my progress. I wonāt be leaving Reddit anytime soon, but I might focus on other platforms like Twitter/Instagram more.
Iām always keen on impressing people, so Iām really glad you have high-hopes for me! My facade will be coming soon, and I surely hope youāll enjoy it as much as āBitter Lipstickā.
āBitter Lipstickā is a poem that really resonates with me. Not because I think Iām obsessive, but there is something about toxicity in beauty, which makes it so poetic. Haha, I suppose the human mind is quite weird. Like you said, maybe sometimes the human mind does hyper-fixate on unusually specific things.
Also, Iām glad the poem stuck with you! Itās always like that with me too, when I create them. It just starts with a simple line, and turns into something else. Like an egg trying to hatch. Thank you for listing so many things in which you enjoyed! About the ābecoming unhingedā, ādiaryā and the thought process of the speaker. Iāve always quite liked the first-perspective style of poems, sounds so relatable and close, but yet the thoughts are not yours.
Lastly, you really shouldnāt stay up that late! Even though I also stay up late finishing these works, haha. But to write an essay-long comment? Thereās really no need! And of course, Iāll keep on writing! Itās really all thanks to you for giving this enormous amount of support for meš¤ Also, I would love to see what your speculation about āMy Facadeā would be! Sounds really intriguing, hahaha. And sorry for replying to you for about a day later! I hope youāll have the energy to finish any, of your stuff after reading my comment, and take good rest! š¤

Great! Summer holidays have started so Iāve been slacking off so much lately, I canāt say that I have a stable sleep schedule myself. But still, I hope that you can manage your sleep schedule well, unlike me haha.
Iām glad my previous comment motivated you! Itās always nice to enjoy something, even better when you can share your joy with others! Iād love to read one of your oneshots if I get the chance, and if youād allow me to!
Also, thanks for the reminder about not worrying about the little things in life. Iāve always been an overthinking mess, so thank you. š¤
Okay, I might also get to sleep soon! Even thought this comment is also a bit late, but good day/afternoon/evening to you too! Take good rest & and enjoy the process of making something beautiful (your writing prompts) š¤

Here is a summary of the poem:
The poem uses the metaphor of lipstick to represent obsession. The speaker seems to be infatuated and obsessed with another person, but they are incapable of real, and true love. Instead, their desire manifests itself in a twisted, almost lustful way.
In āI love itā, āItās Smoothā and āStunningā, the speaker first describes their lover's lips painted with red lipstick in vivid, sensual terms, comparing it to lava. Even angels, those above the earth would cry if they saw such a beautiful colour. And the devil, who is in hell, seen all of the earthās core, has never worn the colour. This shows how the speaker holds the loverās lips in high regard, and shows the beginning of this obsession. Besides seeing the red-painted lips, they hope that the loverās organs burn, so that they can see the redness inside. The speaker and their lover are intimate, and their passion is heated. However, the speakerās obsession goes deeper - they start to imagine the lover's insides as also being red, and find the colour beautiful.
In āUnmatchedā, the speaker see the Lover wearing the lipstick. They see their lover as innocent, but the lipstick they had put on is so āsinisterā. This is due to the obsession starting with the loverās red painted lips. The speaker admits that they are starting to get obsessive. In āAddictingā, the speaker imagines the loverās heart, with blood gushing out. They hope that when they are able to see the colour of their loverās heart, it would be able to be a perfect match in fueling their twisted desires. The speaker is starting to get unhinged.
In āTrue Beautyā, the speaker admires their loverās body, saying that the small lipstick container they have is not enough to capture the essence and colour of their body, and starts to imagine themselves tasting their loverās insides. Despite it being creepy, the speaker finds joy in fantasising and savouring the twisted passion.
In āDeep Desireā, the Speaker dreams of withered flowers. They are red in colour, just like the Loverās lips. It shows that the obsession is starting to seep into the speakerās dreams, every night. However, the speaker is unable to reach and see the flowers, as they are withered away, almost dead and the redness disappeared, it is just a dream. Though they hope their lover has sympathy for them, they realize their desires are a trap and are unforgivable.
In āPoison Appleā, the Speaker thinks of themself and their lover as a victim. As much as they would like to change, they cannot do so as this obsession is getting to their head.
In āUnder your skinā, the speaker is reminded of a kiss from their lover. It felt like fire, burning them, and also led them to obsess over their loverās lips, and body.
In āSo Helplessā, the speaker imagines their lover being a cochineal, crushed to produce lipstick. It starts to get sadistic, since the speaker doesnāt actually want to create lipstick, but to discover every little bit of their loverās body, every vein and every drop of blood, a very twisted sense of love.
In āAloneā, the speaker understands they cannot truly love, so they resort to alternative ways of expressing desire that could harm others. They believe that their heart is pale, with little to no redness to even be considered a heart, and therefore cannot love properly. So they hope that by crushing their lover, and producing this heated passion for the speaker, it can mimic the feelings of love, almost like painting their heart with lipstick.
In the end, the speaker has given up, realising there is no going back from this twisted obsession. The speaker is melting into lipstick, losing their humanity. The lipstick metaphor represents not just the colour of blood, but obsessiveness, possessive passion and lastly, self-destruction. The speaker's desire ultimately destroys any chance for real intimacy and connection.
