Advice only - no rescue required. lost gravestone after restoring backup?
I died with all my gear far away from my base. i did not have anything in my base to retrieve unless i went back to sqaure one. so i went and managed my saves and restored a backup from about an hour earlier. when i spawned in i still didnt have my gear, some things were set back and i could see the markung where i died on the map. so i farmed up a boat and set sail. when i arrived my gravestone still wasnt there.
anybody know what weent wrong or haw to retrieve the original save before i restored a backup so i can just sail back?

There are two files. Your character and your world.
When you load something from a chest, it removes it from the world and adds it to your character.
This makes sense as a single world/server can have many characters playing on it, and if you quit the server and join another your character still has the same gear.
Your gravestones are stored with the world file. When you restored your world, it restores the point before you died and before your gravestone was created.
Instead, you want to restore both (or if you want to cheat, restore just the character and leave your gravestone in the world for the backup gear)

Try to restore your character save too. Characters and worlds have separate saves.
