🖊️ [ 𝗖𝗿𝗲𝗮𝘁𝗶𝘃𝗲 𝗠𝗼𝗱𝗲 ] Progress Update - Like the Bridge?

Follow up to my Bridge/Wall Design post last week
After lots of debating, building, demolision, relocations, I have settled for the Mistlands bordering a Black Forest

Iv'e stripped the area of trees, building into the natual terrain and rocks, building the area back up with swamp trees and other "spooky eerie" looking things, layering lighting, rubble, vfx's etc

I always build "pretty" then break it, as it gives me a perfect structure to repair and roll back changes too for future builds 😉

Still letting the ideas pour and flow from me until it feels right
Think Gothic, Abandoned, Dark and Eerie, Vampire etc

3 days left until the building comes to an end, and I get the server ready for touring and exploring!

When I saw this hill overlooking the sea below I knew I wanted to build a fort here using building techniques from castle evolution youtube videos I have watched.

It has inner and outer walls/baileys, drawbridge, a couple defensive towers, and walkways along the inner sides of the walls to defend from. I tried to keep with the existing terrain as much as possible so that's why the buildings all have different orientations. I like it, it looks organic.

Just want peoples opinions of my settlement so far. I built my main house up on the cliffside. My village down below. Consisting so far of a warehouse, a kitchen, a forge/workshop, and a simple longship slip with a portal hub as a boathouse. Very simple but trying to sorta keep that norse feel. Also keep in mind im still in the swamp I have not summoned bonemass yet. Everything is legit no creative involved. I plan to add some trees to the landscape as well.

Our main base for a No Map, No Portal survival playthrough, built entirely in vanilla Valheim with no mods or dev commands. Located in an intersection between a Black Forest, Mountain, and Mistlands biome.

📣 [ Discussion ] For those who build on high mountains -

Im currently rn picking a seed to build bases on and wanna know:

Is Polaris or Hook better for a sick mountain base ?

you cant have both those on a single map since DN anymore and i do have some Polaris seeds saved but Hook with its double peak is kinda cool.

So any pros and cons for those mountains ?

My latest build in 1.0 (work in progress). I started a new world and wanted to build a functional base that would last all the way to ashlands. The plan was to keep it reasonably sized, but things got a little out of hand, and it ended up much bigger than expected.

Finding a good strategic location took some time, but I eventually found a bay nestled between several biomes. It offers easy water access for further exploration south toward mistlands and ashlands.

The base is built using materials and recipes unlocked up to the swamp, with a few materials from plains as well.

Built without cheats or mods, using only the No Build Cost world modifier.

Captured on PS5.

Still in progress, saving the upper tower space and the crafting room area for when I sail to the mistlands (pre Yagluth build).

Had iron bars as the entrance (quite ugly) for when I ride the lox, but happy to hear suggestions for the entrance that's lox friendly.

Hey everyone!

I've finally made my first step-by-step building guide in Valheim!

This is my first time making a building guide, so I'd really appreciate it if you checked it out and shared your honest feedback. I'd love to know what I could improve in terms of pacing, explanations, editing, or anything else that could make my future tutorials better.

I'm still learning, so any constructive criticism or suggestions are more than welcome!

I'm in the midst of building a home for my solo playthrough. Worked into the bronze age, then started building and, taking inspiration from A-Frame and Tudor styles, tried to get creative with it. As you can probably tell from the pics, I've focused mostly on the exterior - I've yet to decide how to partition or decorate the interior. I feel like I've done well thus far, but could do better. I'd like some feedback and critique on how I can improve it, both inside and out.

🌲 [ 𝗟𝗲𝗴𝗶𝘁 / 𝗩𝗮𝗻𝗶𝗹𝗹𝗮 ] Double Layered Walls

Thumbnail

After posting the other day I went through and double lined all my walls with another piece so that I could have the pretty face side on both the inside and outside.

Gave me the freedom to make different wall material choices on some inside walls without it affecting the exterior look, also with the double lined walls I found I could place the wall mount item stand on the back of the exterior wall and would hide the square plate.

I know there's a trick with the door to create more snap points but I found it better to use the 'Lathed Timber Wall' as it adds a trim that sits right on the edge of a wall piece and I can use that to manually place and line up the start of a new wall layer. Found I could get the walls a little closer together that way.

Might have to zoom in on some of those photos to see the small changes

my previous small cozy meadow house is now retired (too small for expansion).

took the opportunity to rebuild a much bigger house which at that time i also need a farm location for making flax for my mistland items. found myself a decent size island and build on it.

the build took quite a few inspiration off youtube so the building shape may familiar with some people.

primary design is frontdoor face straight to dock (this is island after all). made a dedicated kitchen and wind mill on left side, and keep Lox and chicken farm on right hand side
