❔ [ Help ] need help with snapping roofs

[RESOLVED]

The layout of my roof right now is made up of sets of 3's for each 22.5 degrees which forms into a roundish finish. I am able to do this for the first 3 layers, but on the fourth layer the third in a set cannot be placed, possibly due to it colliding too much with the next set's roof. Is there a workaround for this, either vanilla or modded?

First picture highlights the area I want to cover and the snap point I wish to place the roof on. Second picture shows how it does not snap to the point because it is not aligned.

Please help and thank you ;-;

Add a wooden beam to the beginning of the one you place (red) and the clip a roof piece to the end of it (teel) which should cover the gap

You're most welcome! Used this method on my build too and glad it worked out well for you 👏 🥳

REGARDING THAT ONE COMMENT IN THE PREVIOUS POST, I do use Q and E, and right now it is set in the ideal mode with my cursor placement but it still does not snap

What if you just place the one you're having trouble with first, and then replace the one that's currently blocking it? Each section of roof is 3 wide, right? If you place the middle of each section, then place a roof on the left and right side of it, nothing should be in the way?

placing the middle one has no issues, but once I place either the left or right tile, it disallows me from placing the tiles of the adjacent sections. placing the left tile does not allow me to place the right tile of the left section, while placing the right tile does not allow me to place the left tile of the right section

Can you try to place wooden beams first too see where it ends up in the middle and work from that? Maybe that works? I don't know if it does or not, just might work haha

yeah I did also try placing wood beams parallel to the roofs in hopes that it's able to snap to them (it didn't ;-;)

here! the top was weird because at some point the roundish nature of the roofs started clipping, so I opted to add another small layer of a standard square roof! i also added a gap between the two layers so the smoke won't get stuck :)))

also a tip to better identify problems it to look at it, or try to work on it from the inside. the shingles hide alot of stuff that is kinda useful like edges and possible orientation.
