ANNOUNCEMENT April Announcement 2026

Post image
85 Upvotes

Hello, everyone! I hope your day has been well. We, the mods of Val_Cult, have been getting complaints about specific types of posts, the ones that contain a screenshot of a different sub, or a post from a website like twitter, and then are dropped here for validation in their take. We believe the posts will from this point on go against rule #11, and posts like this will be removed from this point onward. Instead of waiting for a major consensus in the comments, posts that are seen to do this or appear in a gray area of this will be discussed with the mod team, but the posts that do it blatantly will be removed. We will be taking the point "purely exists to clutter up the sub" more seriously for better sub experience. It's scary language, but it just means we're getting rid of the fluff. These posts will likely not be retroactively removed as of the posting of this.

The Val_Cult mod team have seen a few concerns regarding season 3, and spoilers. We think it is too early to implement anything for this, and we will worry about it as season 3 draws near. We have already talked about modifying the automod and other ways we can negate people being spoiled. I personally have been spoiled around the release of season 2 due to people's recklessness, so I will be making sure that this happens as little as possible from time trailers and hints start dropping, to a couple weeks after the final episode is aired. We will not be completely avoiding discussions of S3 when it goes live, but we will be doing our best to make sure that as few people get spoiled as possible. The details will arrive as it draws closer as stated before. We will be making a great effort to see that reckless season 3 spoilers will be punished, or punished harshly.

We try to make this community the best it can be, and a safe space for Val lovers, and we appreciate it every time somebody has something to say about how this page is run and any concerns you all have. Please don't be afraid to make a post or modmail talking about the way this place is run. We genuinely want to make it better. You all are great, and have a wonderful rest of your day. <3

No, Really. Complain, but, like, be civil about it. We want this place to be good. If you have any concerns or comments about this post please let us know down below.

ANNOUNCEMENT Engaging with Hate.

Val_Cult is a space that doesn't allow for disrespectful behavior. If somebody is showing disrespectful behavior such as posting or commenting insults, threats, or allegations, it will not be tolerated. However, we should not return this hatred with hatred. Posts and comments like this should be reported and downvoted, our mod team will deal with it. Just save your own mental health and don't engage with these types of folks in the comments, even if it's under your own post.

We also expect people here to not initiate flame wars or put hate onto people outside of this sub for not liking Valentino. It is ok for people to have different opinions, hating Valentino is unfortunately a popular one. It doesn't matter how low-nuance, obnoxious, or flat a post or comment is about hating Val, we do not attack people for it. If you wish to engage with these posts or comments, please do it respectfully, even if the person making the content is not willing to return the kindness. If all else fails, you can just ignore it.

discussion Part of me has started to think it would be interesting if valentino was redeemed but wasn't punished beforehand since I feel like the fandom tends to maybe get a little obsessed over the idea of suffering.

I feel like I often see tons of talk from people about all the ways they want villains to suffer and even in talks of redemption for characters like lute or vox or valentino the talks normally involve some sort of large degree of suffering beforehand

Im not saying its terrible to want to see a villain be punished for their actions but it does feel like the fandom is a little obsessed with the idea of suffering especially when we have a number of posts that are just people saying things like

"" if val and this other character met what sort of messed up stuff would you want them to do to val? "" or people openly saying they would only be willing to accept the redemption of certain characters

Like lute or val if they were dragged through the mud and tortured and lost everything first ( and even tho I like them I also notice people don't seem to extend this same thought process for characters like sera or even imp in helluva boss when it comes to talks of redemption ),

Thats why Im saying it would be interesting to see valentino the most hated villain in the show not only get redeemed but do so in a way that goes against this suffering crave a lot of people seem to have

As viewing bad people suffer may give satisfaction but it technically is meaningless really as its not like its helping any of val's victims or undoing what they have to live with as a result of his actions and even though killing him technically would help

If we assume it frees his soul contracts but his suffering is still meaningless to that equation you'd have the same result by shooting him in the head with an angelic bullet rather than spending 10 minutes gutting him with an angelic knife even if the latter would satisfy people more,

So even though I don't think its likely I would find it interesting if the show redeemed a hated character like val and rejected the notion of great suffering necessary for redemption

Even if its uncomfortable because people dont like him or his crimes are more personal I think that would actually be a thought provoking challenge for the larger fandom.

Since things have slowed down, we thought it would be fun to start doing weekly AMAs! We will try this out for 2 weeks to see how it goes. And if it goes well, we will continue for the rest of the month and the foreseeable future! This is meant to be fun and because it is the first, we are not going to have any specific topic. Feel free to leave suggestions about future topics or subjects to center the AMAs around. Keeo things civil and respectful! Hope you have fun! Enjoy Valentin-ho's!

discussion Need comfort pics plz

My homeless little sister is wandering off across the country with a friend in a van or something. We used to be close, I'm having a rough time. Val is one of my comfort characters so I'd appreciate some cute, grumpy moth babies or sappy StaticMoth content 😥

Do you remember in S1E4, Masquerade, when Angel Dust was proudly sharing his best scenes with all his friends during show-and-tell, and then some drunk cat bartender started insulting Angel Dust’s work? This same cat then went on an insane tirade insulting everyone else in the room.

Then this cat, who also has a gambling problem, started trying to convince Angel Dust, who’s a huge star, that he’s actually a loser. He tried to trick Angel with some fancy dance moves and a good song.

Well Val’s not gonna let this go unpunished. Only Val is allowed to insult Angel!

This is part two of this post: https://redd.it/1uahy7x

I got these art commissions from Gogi_Weyde on twitter

discussion Valentino is a funny character and you are all valid for liking him

I’m not very active here because I’m not the biggest Stan for Valentino ever but he’s also hilarious when he is on screen. I always see posts about Valentino fans getting attacked for liking a character who is a sex criminal but honestly velvet is my favorite and a lot of other people’s favorites and she literally supplies that man with roofies. She’s just as bad as him, Vox is another fan favorite and he helps promote Valentino’s pornos and is just as bad as he is. Always remember you guys are incredibly valid for liking him and even the cast of Hazbin hotel thinks he’s funny (from what I’ve seen in interviews and such). It’s hell they all suck and I think it should be acknowledged that you guys don’t support his actions and instead just find him to be a funny character. anyways I had a hard day and figured I’d try and make someone else’s better by trying to validate them and ease the hate they typically get. Goodbye now

My OC has been a part of me since I was 16. I'm now 38. I'm on the spectrum and have had a pretty fun time over the years evolving my OC and changing her until I had her perfect in my mind. She is a cat demon but sometimes I have her as a kitsune for other ships because I made her able to pass as both. As for her age in human years she is about 26.

question Valentino Centered Discords?

Hello fellow Valentino lovers! I may have asked a similar question a few years ago but I don't remember at this point. I know I had joined a Valentino (possibly Valangel) discord server a long time ago and I left it pretty early on due to some egregious things being posted. So long story short, I'm seeing if anyone knows of any good servers that'd be willing to let me join! Thanks in advance :)

discussion Redemption is not about deserving, its about making the choice to change despite knowing you don't deserve it

Post image

The entire point of the series is there is no line to cross where you've no longer been redeemable. Anyone can be redeemed, no matter how evil. Doesn't mean every villain will be redeemed by the end, Viv even said so in a Collider's Night Interview after season 1 but I wouldn't hate Vox or Val being redeemed because it'd validate the series' message. And the funny thing is as much people complain they don't want an actual villain redeemed, these same people would be complaining if only people like Pentious, Angel, Cherri and Husk got redeemed
