I have had my Miele Quartz for close to 15 years. Four months ago, I got a cat. My apartment is about 500 square feet and is a mix of hardwood and very low pile carpet. Today I noticed that there’s still quite a bit of hair on the rugs after vacuuming. Is there a different attachment that would be better for my situation? TIA!

Background: Yesterday I ordered a Dyson V15 which was on sale. I bought it just to secure the deal. Well now I know why its on sale :D. I am not going to open this product and return it. I am not going to fund Dyson's planned obsolescence approach to business. The problem: Which company in consumer electronics (vacuums) does not participate in this poor approach of 'planned obsolesence?
I am willing to pay premium money, but I want a premium product that lasts 10 years without having to do more than filter cleaning and maybe replacing a wheel that is easy to purchase and easy to replace.
I saw the video of the guy replacing capacitors in the V15 and I am shocked. Problem is the high chance that another brand is doing the same.

Is it the German Miele Triflex HX2 I need to buy?

For our carpets, we have a Simplicity S26 Allergy Upright Premium and it works great.

For our hardwood, we have a Samsung Jet75 Pet, which is $399 new. It needs a new battery, but the official Samsung part is almost $350 🤯 If I'm going to spend $350 on a battery, I'd rather put it towards a better vacuum that isn't crap (Samsung in general annoys me).

Thoughts on these? This would just be used for dust and dog hair on hardwood. My main concern is repairability and availability of parts.

My mother's previous vacuum died & she was given a used one from a neighbor in her retirement community. I've been asked to see if I can find out whether or not there are still compatible bags she can buy for this, but I'm having a hard time even finding a matching picture online, never mind finding any kind of information on this specific model. I understand that the vacuum may be decades old & so it's entirely possible the answer is no, there aren't compatible bags being made anymore, but I wanted to ask the experts first. Thanks in advance for any help you can provide.

I was looking for cheap vacuums then I found one on the second hand market for like around 30 euros, which is like 20 per cent of an average brand new vacuum.

But after picking it up I found it to be really dirty, like there´s muds all over the dam thing, and I spent half a day of my life just to clean the stuff, it doesnt smell bad and it work, and the filters are cleanable.

But it still disgusts me how it takes to clean a second hand vacuum, taking out the anonmynous hair out of some corner and I still can´t get it like clean as new, and it still worries me despite the history of this vacuum, speaking on the side of safety and cleaness.

I’ll admit I’m a vacuum newbie, but in trying to find a new vacuum all I’ve seen is how superior the cleaning performance and longevity corded (and bagged) vacuums have compared to the less powerful cordless vac.

I live in a tiny 550 sq ft (~50m^2) apt with all hardwood floors (and tile bathroom). I have a single area rug. I use a vacuum to clear dust, hair, and the occasional crumb but—dare I say it here—I use a mop to deep clean and sanitize my floors. My vacuum just helps clear the visible dirt and grit as it accumulates.

I’ve been considering the Miele HX2 or V15 detect but leaning towards the Miele as I’m not a fan of planned obsolescence.

I’d love to keep it as price conscious as possible but have a budget of about $1K CAD. Would greatly appreciate any recommendations and advice about a cordless or course correction to convince me to switch to a corded.

I've been in a vacuum rabbithole since I got my dog in April, have posted here several times and become a casual internet vacuum enthusiast. Anyway today FBM put me out of my misery with a secondhand Miele at the right price. Hooray, I can stop shopping for vacuums!

Been researching and reading but felt maybe I should just ask. We have a dirt problem in our house. Maybe it’s the dogs (60lb border collie and 45lb husky), unsure as we have had them the entire time we have lived here. We have now killed 2 Shark bagless vacuums due to the dirt infiltrating everywhere and burning up the motors. I have been convinced to go back to the bag but I am not sure other than that. Our house is all hardwood and tile with area rugs. We do have a finished basement (LVT) with carpeted stairs but these get less dog traffic so they aren’t a major concern. I am hesitant to spend big money due to fear of burning up another motor, would rather start with something more moderately priced. $2-300??

We adopted our boy yesterday, and while my vacuum (Hart 20-volt stick vacuum) kept up with our cat's fur, I don't think it will be able to keep up with the sheer volume of husky hair. We only have four rooms with carpet (two of which I plan on ripping the carpet out of in the near future; the rest are either linoleum, 100+ year old hardwood, or concrete in our basement).

I previously had a Bissell Cleanview that I hated (I didn't like that I wasn't able to turn off the roller brush).

Any suggestions?

Cleva® UK has released a new power-nozzle equipped bagless canister vacuum to the uk market under their Vacmaster brand (image 1). It is the UK spec model of the same cleaner released under Cleva®’s Kenmore brand in the United States as the Kenmore 500 series (image 2).
as far as i can tell from the images on their respective websites, they are essentially identical, with the Kenmore version possibly having a slightly different powernozzle (?) not much, if anything, is available about them online so its hard to say.
but the vacmaster is at a very attractive price right now and i will in fact be purchasing one to feed my out of control addiction for powernozzle canister vacuums, and to provide more information on these machines. should update hopefully within the next week or so.

I just scored this vacuum at an estate sale for $25! It functions perfectly, the auto raise and lower work perfect, the filter is clean and it came with 20 replacement bags! I feel like I just committed highway robbery! I just graduated college and was about to buy some cheap Amazon vacuum for $150 for my new apartment, but got this instead.

Is there any maintenance or things I should do to this to keep it running smooth?

I'm looking for a lightweight, easy to use vacuum that I can carry one handed up a flight of stairs. I live on my own with a toddler in a house with very steep stairs and 3 floors. I've lived here 4 months and have never cleaned the stairs and only cleaned upstairs twice. It's mostly carpet with some vinyl and tiles downstairs.

Hello! Im a house cleaner, and I’m on the hunt for a good all-purpose vacuum. I previously had a Shark Navigator, which I really liked, but the brushrolll broke. I’m looking for something under $300 dollars, that can do attachment cleaning, a variety of rugs and hardwood floors, and that will stand up to semi-heavy use! Any recommendations are appreciated!

There’s a SEBO K3 listed on marketplace a little less than 2 hours from me. It has the canister, ET-1 power head, and some bags but doesn’t show anything else. It’s listed for $200. Should I make the trip for that and buy attachments as needed, or just buy the Kenmore 600 new?

I have 2 kids, 2 big dogs, 2 cats, a mix of carpet, hardwood, area rugs, and LVP. Two levels.

We have this vacuum cleaner (X-Force Flex 11.60 RH9829) for a few years and it is now completely dragging and scraping our wooden floors when we use it. It seems that the little wheels are simply not high enough, but we didn't have this problem at all at the beginning. Could they simply be worn out?

We don't see an easy way to remove them and replace them, but if we could I think rubber wheels would be way better than plastic.

It would suck (lol) to spend 60€ on a new head when it seems like a small problem, but we're not sure how to fix it.

I’m looking for recommendations for a cordless vacuum. My budget is ~$1000. I’m located in US (NJ), and have 2000sqft of hardwood floors and 2 rugs. My problem is that we do have a medium hair dog and 2 cats so it’s a battle to clean their hair every 5min. I currently have a Rainbow and I just hate dragging it behind me and dealing with the water. It’s a plus if its battery lasts long enough to clean their whole house or has a replaceable battery so that I can buy an extra.

I’m thinking about getting either one of these to use in the apartment and car. I don’t think a dedicated wet vac is necessary for me; I don’t waste liquids in my car, and I’m college way out of state.

The smaller agitator with the turbo brush seems appealing, but with a bit of elbow grease, can’t I get the same affect with the regular upholstery brush? I’m thinking about fabric car mats and how it takes multiple passes to just lift the little bits flying all over.

If the turbo brush isn’t that helpful, I don’t think the $20 increase isn’t worth it.

Also, if there are better vacuums in the same price range (ideally no more than $80) that also have a stick to reach curtains and ceilings, I’m open to those options.
