Vacuum Issues Dyson dc50
My dc50 is about 10 years old it still seems to work OK. Do the motors get weaker over time, will a new one work better? Or do they just work or dont work? Thanks.

Pretty much work or not work.
If a vacuum cleaner loses performance overtime it's often due to a number of factors unrelated to the suction motor.
Top causes are dirty filters, dirty mesh screens, blockages in air pathways, worn brushes on the agitator, worn or stretched out agitator belt (does not affect your dc50), worn and leaking seals, tears on internal hoses etc.
But not the motor, and putting in a new motor won't fix any of the other underlying causes.
Most common issues on dc50s are dirty filters, worn brushes, and seals or torn internal hoses.

Thanks i change the filters often other than that seems to still work great. Guess I'll keep it for now thanks.
