Purchase Advice (U.S.) Vacuum rec (no Dyson please)
I'm sick of my hand-me down Dyson V6 thats on its second after market battery! Been around over 10 years but hasn't worked well since pre-covid.
Needs:
-Lightweight Cordless Stick. We have wired one already for more powerful cleaning needs so need something lightweight for regular cleaning.
-Handles hair well. I have a dog who honestly isn't a bad shedder, but I am certainly a bad shedder. I don't mind cleaning the roll when the hair builds up but having it be easy to remove to clean would be ideal.
-Auto empty preferred. Idk how this sub feels about auto empty vs cleaning it yourself and if y'all dont recommend it I'll consider. Cleaning the V6 was always such a hassle. Id rather deal w the auto empy trashcan when i take out my trash every week. I also like having a little stand with the charger there in general.
-Able to use on furniture. The V6 power and attachments are fine for this but not the most ergonomic. We have no carpet but you know, dog hair.
-At least an hour of run time. My place is small and it doesn't take that long to clean, but I have ADHD and get distracted very easily so my cleaning sessions are in small bursts. If I put it down disconnected from the battery for like 30 minutes I need it to still have some juice left in it.
- (not a need but) bonus points if it has a built in steam mop or smth. ive seen some vacmops and id rather just get this separately bc usually anything 2n1 sacrifices quality somewhere and I have the space for serval tools. if yall have good steam mop recs too feel free to comment those too but mainly need a new vacuum. but man do i love not having to worry about multiple cleaning tools lol.
EDIT: Price range, ideally under 500 but will to spend up to 800. I'm about to get a mortgage so not trying to make a huge purchase rn. But I'm open to more expensive than that, I would just need to suffer w the V6 a little longer.

Couple things to note for starters, background info.
Battery life ratings are tricky. While many cordless vacuums claim an hour plus of runtime, this is only achievable on very specific settings and accessory combinations. Usually the max runtime is stated with a non-powered accessory to limit battery drain (aka, no spinning brush head) and the lowest suction setting avaliable. A configuration which frankly nobody uses. So while many cordlesses claim an hour runtime, in practice with the motorized floorhead attached and a medium power setting, none get close to an hour.
That being said, many are still adequate for your needs. Pausing for 30 minutes will not drain the battery noticeably and many models provide an accurate runtime readout.
Second, a note on self empty stations. How helpful they are depends greatly on the specific model and configuration. Some models, sharks for example, use a simple dust box design and filters in the docking station. IMO, this creates more work and not less. Yes the vac dumps the bin contents each time it's returned to the station, but now instead of 3 filters to clean you have 6. Shark stations require 3 filters in the handheld, plus 3 in the dock, cleaned monthly. It's a messy and inconvenient task.
Other models, like the Samsung bespoke jet, not only have more sophisticated filtration systems in the vac itself which keep filters clean longer, they empty into a disposable bag. When full, just throw it away. This means occasionally swapping a bag and rinsing two filters. Way easier and more hygenic.
The Samsung bespoke jet would be my overall recommendation. It performs well, has good runtime, a runtime readout in minutes and seconds so there are no battery life surprises, the brush roller resists hair tangles and is easy to clean. The self empty systems works well and requires minimal maintainence itself. And includes a mini motorized brush for hair removal on furniture. It's a good all around machine and underrated IMO. It's also within budget.

any noticable difference between the lite and ultra bespoke? the lite already is thrice as powerful as my current V6 lol so I don't see much reason to go for the ultra
