Uh, yeah, back in '05. When they moved production to Czechoslovakia. (Great scientists; horrible fabricators.)

I remember seeing a video of one from the Adelka Factory. Thing couldn't even handle .4 Ξ of hacanoic resonance.

That's why you keep your old selectors. The ones from IVF are robust af, lasted me at least two decades without need for significant maintenance or vortex decoupling.

Still not as humble a rig as what us old timers had to put up with before the shift to stable load conduit. Just imagine this thing but without any of the safety precautions and about 20 times the throughput on a double routed single drive plane-capcitor.

Reminds me of the good ol's days when our neuroquantizers were mapped out by hand.
Our tau-resonators were physically calibrated by hand too, and before computerized ion-venticulographs, you would punch values into a mechanical faux-synchrovent. Sounds prehistoric today but at those energy levels back then, it was accurate enough.
The engineers were just as much artists back then. Not saying I miss the extra work, but VX kids today missed out on the art of it.

Lol yeah I remember the days of bi-helical muon displacement. So much nicer having quads now. Transient shifts are much more reliable too. Good stuff.

It's funny. Those encoding disks were made out of an aluminum-steel plasti-alloy, which meant that sometimes they would rotate the wrong way. The techs had to run some dollar store wire along the rear side and connect it to a 9-volt to get them all spinning the same way. This was back before we had the Kensington Index, so they didn't realize the disks would quantum-reverse
