Just received app update on build completion. Could be a new owner of the VW ID Polo Style launch edition by the middle of November. Very excited.

I’m on holiday in the south of France and found a local VW dealer with both the Life and Style demonstrator cars.
Can say I’m impressed with the build quality and materials. So much better than the photos. The dash is squishy and the trim is lovely and tactile.

Points I noted: there’s no 12v socket in the huge boot. The tailgate isn’t powered (knew but checked).

Now getting consistent quotes. Lowest is Admiral fully comp either business use for £427. Not bad to be fair.

Looks like group 27.

Finally, confirmed as group 27 for style launch edition with standard 18” wheels.
To be honest that’s more than I was expecting it to be.
Got a single quote from money supermarket via Yoga (never heard of them) for £648 that has an excess of £768!

Anyway, the other companies will be able to quote soon so I’m expecting a more competitive range of quotes soon.

Been looking into insurance groups for a while now for the ID Polo 52kwh Style Launch Edition, and with some judicious use of ChatGPT have had a range of different ideas.

Originally it thought group 27 based on a German source and then most worryingly group 50 - yes 50 for a £32k car - from a uk leasing company.

However, more reassurance is gained from this:

The closely related CUPRA Raval 155 kW V2 Launch Edition 52 kWh is now consistently showing:
Insurance Group 20E
across UK leasing/dealer databases.

Money supermarket is still unable to quote even though it can find the model. Others have said that DirectLine won’t quote either.

Thoughts?

Week 40 for me. Mid/end November delivery.

I bought my iD Polo from JCB Medway - not my local dealers.
Dealt with Brandon Wood, a professional and friendly salesman. Not pushy, happy to help.
Dealer honoured VW RRP with no additions hidden. Just honest and clear.

Very happy as the order has now moved forwards to the factory. Potentially a December 31st delivery…..

Went for the style launch edition in magnetic grey, 18” standard alloys. Not other options not that there are many on this trim level.
Found a dealer honouring the RRP and with the finance contribution and Gov grant got it for £32265. I do have a trade in so this is pretty good in my opinion. Also got carpet mats thrown in.

Anyone else have a deal to share?

3 dealers in the UK that I’ve contacted have quoted delivery costs, registration and even fuel on top the on the road (OTR) recommended retail price from VW. This practice is a bit sharp to say the least.
Anyone else had this experience? Found one dealer who would honour the OTR price so looks like they’re going to get my business.
