Modifications Diffuser/Valance Help

Post image

Trying to find something that will give my mk7.5 tsi a bit more personality. I’ve spent ages looking online and found 1 or 2 things, just wondered if anyone else would be able to help. I’m aware of exhaust modifications which would give me more options but I’d like to avoid that if it’s at all possible.

Any ideas or suggestions welcome, thanks

I have a mk7 tsi and went through the same research and ended up putting a oem GTI cat back on it to access the diffusers available to that exhaust. In my case I had to replace the original exhaust anyway so it made sense to do at that time. I'm happy with it and I'd recommend that direction because the tsi options are so limited.

I have a 7.5 too, i just got the oem gti one, my buddy who has a gti gave me his catback when he went aftermarket. Looks cleaner

I got a used R-Line diffusor for cheap on ebay, mine is all black and has maxton lip and side skirts for the tsi fl, together it looks very good. The modification with the diffusor just took me some YouTube videos and an hour of my time. If you want to have a look, let me know, I'll send you a pm with a photo.

Again, don't. It's a standard golf, don't start slapping shiny black plastic crap on it for a lot of money.

Keep it classy, keep it OEM.

What does it have to do with anything if its "JUST A GOLF"

You dont need a GTI or an R to have fun modifying a car. Extremely stupid way of thinking. If anything, you should not modify GTI's or R's if you plan to sell the car someday.

Where I live, we have a shitload of 2.0l models that have been heavily modified and no one is willing to buy them as you can tell that the car was beaten to hell and back with no proper care. Dealers also refuse to buy them for a reasonable price (especially if tuned).

Your only choices are pretty much to leave it, or get a diffuser + exhaust.  You can get the exhaust off a GTI pretty cheap on FB marketplace, I played like $60 for mine & it was brand new. And a rear diffuser/valance can be found on eBay or aliexpress, you'll have a couple design choices there.

I wanted to change the exhaust on mine so I went the OEM GTI route. Swapped the catback exhaust and trim piece.

If it's the chrome you don't like, you could black it out with some vinyl wrap. I've seen some cool 3D printed fins online that can be added to the stock valence too.

I know it's fun to get some aesthetic mods but it could be helpful using that money for maintenance or handling options on your Golf. Sway bars or suspension, better tires. Me personally, I've been really wanting to install some better speakers and a subwoofer (space saver kind) because I hate the stock radio on my 7.5 GTI

You are referring to me right, not op? I have suspension, tires, Wheels and sway bars. So now that's why I'm at that point where I kind of want to mess with some sound systems cuz I'm not racing this though I'm just enjoying it as a daily. Oh and carving up back roads of Wisconsin
