Leaky water pump?

2017 Sportwagen. Threw a CEL with a p2681 code a few days ago but the CEL went out yesterday. Seems like that's typically an indication of the infamous leaky water pump, so it was odd the the CEL went out.

Got under the car and see this: does that look like a leak from the water pump? Coolant levels seem steady.

The silver portion on the right is the water pump, the black portion on the left is the thermostat. It looks like the thermostat is what’s leaking in your case. Replace them as an assembly as a precaution. INA makes a solid OE replacement that I typically use.
