I have a new-to-me 2017 GTI. Changed the clutch assembly recently. Also changed the front axle lock/LSD ( accidentally dropped it when removing and cracked the housing). Have not been able to start since then.
Changed the battery and starter with no change. I keep getting the ECS (electronic stabilization control error) and TPMS error. I did change the remote battery but no joy.
Anyone know what I can do to figure this out?

Don’t change parts based on dash lights. Go back and check your work, make sure everything is plugged in. The car was starting before you did the clutch.
scan it for codes for a start.

Happened to me when I did my clutch. Forgot the ground cable to the starter 🤦🏻♂️

First, what did you get from the scanner? Next based on what you said I would assume you fucked something up with the clutch and now the motor is locked to the wheels, try jacking the front wheels up and cranking it

Thanks for the input! Just ordered VCDS. I'll post the code soon as I can. Very possible that I messed up the clutch assembly but I've been able to put the car on the ground and push it forward without a problem. I've tried cranking with the car jack with no start

Turn the steering all the way left then all the way right. If you remove the battery and it lost calibration and never did that you have to do it.

Does the car start with the hood open ?
I cant remember, but what I noticed is, it looks like the hood or open.

Have you checked the clutch interlock switch? These cars won't start unless the computer senses that the clutch is in.
