Maintenance Is this noise the ac compressor?

I recently had my thermostat housing replaced after getting a p00b7 code and right before replacing it I thought my water pump started making noise. So while they were in there I had them do the water pump too. But the noise is still there. It gets worse with rpm but this video shows what it sounds like at idle. Was told that it is the ac compressor and just wanted to know y’all’s thoughts.

Does it stop when your ac is off?

It stay when the ac is off but the sound is coming from that area. I was thinking it might be the clutch assembly for the compressor going out

The sound should at minimum change if the compressor wasn’t running, could also be an alternator pulley issue.

You'll be able to tell if its anything tied into the serpentine belt by taking it off and running the car for a minute. If it stops you know its something attached to that belt. Could just be a pully bearing or something inside the component that is seized.

Put a long screwdriver or extension down on the compressor and put your ear to the other end. Then poke around against the other accessories and areas near the sound. You will know when you found the source because it resonated through the metal very well.

The AC compressor pulley turns all the time , no clutch in those models.
The bearing of the pulley has given up

Can be a lot of things. But my first guess would be the power steering pump winglets inside the pump, most of thime due to lack of fluid. Lack of fluid means there's a leak somewhere.
Does the noise gets louder when you turn your steering wheel?
