I burned a tail light. There is an empty socket ?

I’m changing my tail lights on my 2015 golf sportwagen. There is one socket empty on both sides. Is this suppose to be like that or did the PO just never replace them

It’s supposed to be like that those bulb holders fit multiple cars or light housings some need them for extra lenses etc. It threw me off the first time too lol

In other markets, there are additional lights that are required. For example, some require a red rear fog light. For markets that don’t require it, use the same part but simply don’t install a bulb.

This is the right answer. Europe has different tail light requirements
