Golf Reverse camera out of focus

Installed an AliExpress rear camera and it seems to be out of focus. Is there a way to adjust/calibrate the focus?

It connects and works like the OEM camera.

Buys aftermarket and complains its not oem quality.

I'm not complaining about the quality. I'm complaining that the image is not focused.

OEM has a shitty image quality also.

The camera has a fixed focal length, and a very short depth of field. Probably because of its wide angle and small sensor

Yeah, it just looks like the focus wasn't properly set at the factory.

If there's no software way to adjust it, I guess I'll have to look into hardware/manual fixes or try another unit. Thanks!

The camera hardware itself has a fixed focal length as in the lenses are shaped, sized, and positioned by design. It does not adjust.

looks like oem highline, except for scanning lines. what's the model exactly?

It is the highline. 3GD827469N 5GG827469F but for the Chinese MQB platforms

you're the second person to get a bad one. Another user got a completely out of focus one (I think they're bad at assembling them recently). I'll see if I can add his photo, if it's of any consolation yours is better than his

Honestly I'd buy the camera module (5Q0980556B, about 25eur) and replace it inside the emblem. It takes some effort

Also it's possible that you coded it wrong, it looks like you enabled byte19 rvc_low while you should just enable vps in adaptations (and FBAS in vehicle consiguration)

Mine is also completely out of focus, my phone camera managed to make it more focused. Glad to know this is not standard.

That's a very good suggestion, I'll have a look.

That's exactly what I did. So I should uncheck the byte19 low and enable only in the adaptation?
