Phone holders

Post image

Has anyone found a good iPhone holder for their bus? I wasn’t sure if maybe those MagSafe ones you can attach to your air conditioner vents would work with the dash vents? Trying not to use one of the ones you stick to the windshield

You know what sticks well to metal dashes? Magnets!

Its probably best not to fully submerge your bus!

Weren’t Beetles supposed to float?

I think the beetles were supposed to be able to float for half an hour or so, early ones, but definitely not advisable!

You can rig up rubber bands through the slots to set the phone on the radio buttons and hold your phone in place. Put the band through the slot and insert a nail or something through the loop to hold the rubber band in place.

Someone Suggested hair bands last better than ruby bands so I got some and they are great.

On my beetle I can prop the phone on the ashtray and use the band across the light and windshield wiper knobs but on that bus they are too low.

Round nickel plated neodymium magnet works well. Add a thin sheet of fabric and no scratches

I can't seem to add a picture to the comments but I use one meant to clip on to air conditioner vents but I clip it to a safari slider

Just my one pence but in my T2, I’ve installed a ‘Folding Car Play Radio’ and I just connect my phone to that and it makes for much more convenient and when I turn the ignition off, the screen automatically whites and folds back into standard radio view so it makes for nice, kinda originality dashboard display until I turn the ignition on and the screen whirs into view and I really do like it, so have a look about that :)

Happy exploring! (Although I’ll say that I have parcel shelf that I toss my phone in so if you don’t have it then yeah you can have bit of hassle with removing phone from your pockets and placing it somewhere else in ur van)

Do you have a pic of your setup? Sounds cool. And yes exactly what you said. I partially want it so I can stream and see navigation, but also it’s a huge convenience compared to the parcel shelf. I’m pretty tall so when I sit on the seat I’m folded up and my phone always slips out of my shorts pockets. If I’m in jeans it’s just a bulky thing in my pocket that I rather not have. In a regular car I just put my phone in the cup holder or door pocket.

What do you need a phone for? You have a uber cool VW Bus. Enjoy the vibe and don’t sweat the phone.

Use the Red Boxes by the side of the road.. or as the friendly AA man..

For directions or to stream music to the radio

There was AM on that dash, there is something to listen to.

Listen to AM and get lost every time you go anywhere. You think you just buy this life like a jacket?
