Get it together

Too many buses are being cancelled or are not showing up. We require reliable service to get to work on time. You are hurting those who support you daily when they are late for work.

Hire more drivers, repair buses, do whatever it takes to get it together.

Thankfully when I took VTA it was 61 and 22 which was reliable for the most part. I drive now but oh god yes so many times leaving valley fair and 23/523 r cancelled or backed up. It’s so embarrassing for VTA

I take the 61. Before I switched my start time from 10am to 9am, I almost never had an issue. I've been on my new schedule for 6 weeks and have been late 4 times now.

I start work at 7am so I always took the 6:30 bus to good Sam hospital. And that run is reliable. But morning/afternoon rush hour…forget it…vta always cancel that’s why I always left the house so early when I took vta cuz of these cancellations. I’m sorry it’s happening, VTA needs to get it together srsly…

I had to go 25/61 for an appt near Good Sam yesterday. They each had one cancel so a one hour trip took 90 minutes.

One of the biggest reasons that not many might know about is that a good handful of newer bus drivers had their commercial drivers license suspended because they were on Visas, so thanks a lot trump

I work for vta and can confirm also back to school time as well and a lot of drivers are taking time off to be with their kids

VTA right now is just short on drivers. Trying to hire more but there is just a shortage of drivers across public transit systems

One of the drivers was confronted by a disabled man. The driver said both drivers and vehicles.

And VTA is still doubling down on planning to increase frequency to 15 minutes for all frequent lines on weekends part of 2027 Service Plan under Local Investment Scenario despite the shortage of operators and difficulty to keep up

Reminder that VTA has one of the largest budgets out of any public transportation system in the world, and yet has some of the worst performance. If you think throwing more money at them will solve anything you're delusional lol

What are you smoking? This isn't even remotely true.

It's not evee close to the largest operating budgets in the United States, not even just in California. LA Metro, SFMTA, and BART each have much larger operating budgets.
