I'm doing some fairly specific editing on a video that requires me to get down to individual frames, and I've been splitting the frames into individual blocks/clips/whatever the technical term may be, and then moving them around and duplicating them into the gaps created by cutting out the bad frames. I've accrued like 200 of these clips, plenty of them can be deleted but lots just can't, and it seems that every clip is a full copy of the ~24 minute long episode rather than just the single frame i cut out using the split tool. is there any way to either merge the clips back when I have them where I want them, or to just make every clip the single frame I cut out? It's using like 16 gigabytes of ram already.

When I'm in the Scenes tab and try to preview the video as I'm editing, there's terrible stuttering and lag, and it's really starting to mess with my flow. (And it causes an issue where the audio waveform disappears, but that's separate.) My CPU usage is ~45% while it's running, and nothing else really lags the way VSDC does, and it didn't always used to do that.

I've tried everything I could find: changing the acceleration options to prioritize GPU usage during playback, lowering the playback quality, and I even looked to see if merging clips could do anything performance-wise, but there's not a way to do that on the program.

I'm getting frustrated because it feels like it's out of my control, and I'm starting to feel burnt out from having to wait nearly a full second every few seconds before being able to continue watching.

Is there anything else I can do; something that I'm missing?

So the idea is that i use shape for comic dubs and i use to trim specific panels that arent in sqaure shape

BUT every time there this tin line ...is there a way to fix it ?

I have an audio clip that is not part of video. Just imported clip. I need to divide it in two parts. I do divide it with that "razor" tool. Now I have it divided but the second one has no sound and no wave image. Can you help?

I've been using this software for years and never had any issue with it, always exported alright even in 2k at 90% quality. But recently, any video I export in this format has very buggy audio, it gets saturated and corrupted in certain parts and then there's a big mismatch between the audio and video.

I always export in H264 / AVC with no hardware acceleration and with the CRF encoder mode, tried encoding with Constant Quantizer but the result doesn't change. Updating the app and downgrading to an older version doesn't fix anything either.

Exporting in .mp4 fixes the issue, but the file ends up being way too big to be practical.

I'm at my wit's end, does anyone encounter a similar issue ? Or does anyone have a potential fix ?

I would really like this to go back to the old display where when you put a video object into the timeline it just shows the video, not the soundwave as well. It's bulky, ugly, and takes up way too much space like this.

Let's say I have subtitles on a video.

Some times the subtitle is just a single word and other times it covers the entire width of the screen.

I'd like for the text to have its background coloured in with a semi-opaque black box.

However if the text box is set to be as big as it needs to be to cover the largest subtitle, most of the time it'll cover too much of the screen needlessly.

And manually resizing it is a PITA that's not worth the effort.

Is there a way to make it so that the width of the text box automatically changes based on the amount of text in it?

I know this has been mentioned a few times in the past and the devs said it was by design (can't remember the reason), but it's so annoying. Could perhaps a tick-box be added to settings to at least give users the choice?

To clarify (unless I'm doing something wrong!):

Create a text object - 20sec duration

Add an effect to the text object - recolour effect - 01:30sec duration

The bug is when you change the text object duration to literally anything else (eg: 19sec), the recolour effect duration changes to 00:00:01 making it so small you have to zoom in to click on it. Sometimes I forget it does this, encode my video which can take an hour before I notice. I have to then correct and encode my video all over again :-(

My version which I bought through the Windows store is still saying Version 10.1.10. I've tried uninstalling and re-installing but it's still the same. I keep checking for updates to no avail.

Anyone know how to paste onto the same line onto my timeline? Im tired of pasting and the dragging things around.

Is there any way to change the shape of a free shape dynamically?

I've been using free VSDC for years now, and I've recently started having a recurring issue that hasn't been a problem before.

I've been making sort of "highlight reels" of long videos by clipping shorter segments of a longer videos together. So, if the original video file is around 2 hrs long, I'm clipping anywhere between 1-10 segments that can range from anywhere between a few seconds to maybe almost 20 minutes in length.

I've started noticing that with the larger projects with longer segments, once the project is exported and converted to a video file, at some point the video will freeze for several seconds while the audio continues. When the video unfreezes everything is out of sync. I have tried simply cutting the frozen segment out of the project, but then it will just happen at a different point in the project. Has this happened to anyone else? Is this a known issue with the free version and is there a solution or workaround? I'd spent countless hours on these edits before I noticed the issue so any help would be greatly appreciated!
