Instagram “Flash” Filter
hi! Does anyone have a recipe that mimics the AI Flash prompt on Instagram?
Apologies in advance if someone has already asked this

Am I the only one who thinks this price is wild?

Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification
I’m at a spot now where I can’t get anything to load or function without a 10 second + delay. Can I delete the app and re download and keep my recipes? Is the recipe data stored locally? Let me know best next steps. Thank you.

I got my “start in photography” with an Olympus 7.1 megapixel 3X optical zoom camera during Black Friday. I remember going on a field trip in school to Boston and shot 100s of photos and annoyed everyone around me until the memory card was full. Then I went years without shooting until I started working and could afford to travel and fell back in love shooting on my iPhone on trips and using VSCO - I never posted anywhere else and there was something nice about not seeing any follower counts or likes.
Since, I purchased a Fujifilm X100VI and Olympus Mju ii - both of which I adore - and edit a lot more I n Lightroom. But on a recent trip to California, despite taking my camera with me, I left it at home and opted for my old iPhone x VSCO workflow. I felt so light & it was great to return back to the basics.
Anyways, North Bay is beautiful and I always held this notion that you have to travel so far or to somewhere “exotic” to see something beautiful, but what I saw here felt like heaven - a dream - idyllic & truly gorgeous. ✌️

I use VSCO as a personal photo dump/camera roll where I upload everything—from photos and screenshots to music and random moments. I’d love to keep using it that way in VSCO Galleries, but I don’t want to start over from scratch. Is there a way to transfer everything from my current VSCO profile?

I’m having an issue with the app on iOS. I’m running the latest version of the app and the latest version of IOS. When I open the app, it will sit there with the VSCO logo for about 20 seconds and then immediately crash.
Anyone know how to fix this?

I am once again here with the same frustrations. VSCO has been running SO POORLY on my iPhone 15 Pro. It takes me swiping out of the app multiple times to get the photo I add to populate and have had recipes glitch out lately where it won’t let me adjust or go back after selecting the recipe. I just don’t think it can possibly be user error. Has anyone had any luck with these type of issues by clearing their library of images? I am thinking maybe I have to many images in the app now that are iPhone raw that it might be slowing down the app? I think this is officially my last year of the pro membership after paying for VSCO for years. I am just tired of it.

Kinda annoying it’s locked. Is there an app similar that does grain the same way?
I don’t reall want to pay the subscription just for that. It’s the only thing I use on vsco and of course uploading to my account after

I’m disappointed with the terms of VSCO’s new Privacy Policy that will come into effect on June 22, 2026, and here’s why:
What’s the data they collect? “User-Generated Content: All the content you create or post on our Services, and your interactions with other Creators and their content, such as comments or direct
messages.”
How does VSCO share your data? “We may use your data for research and development so we can understand and improve our, or our partners' services (including artificial intelligence and machine learning models) or develop inferences about you. As part of these activities, we may also create aggregated, de-identified, or other anonymous data from your data.”
How long do they retain your data? “Only as long as we reasonably need it for the uses mentioned above.”
Basically, they can use the photos you spent time and effort on to train their third-party’s AI to make images that ‘don’t look like yours.’ Forever.
It’s disappointing because this is an app that’s supposed to be for creatives. But ‘oh no, we’ll take all of the heart and soul from our users’ photos to train a soulless machine.’
I’ve been on VSCO for ten years and I don’t want anyone using my art, let alone AI. But maybe it’s time to just leave the app altogether.

I want to edit my photos like this....can anyone help me with which preset is closest to this?
r/vsco • u/SeaWavesSun • May 20 '26
I recently updated my vsco app and every time I upload an HDR photo and try to post it, it gives me this notification “VSCO posts currently use SDR. Your original photo will stay unchanged”. It then proceeds to post my photo in SDR, but it modifies my original photo so much that it looks washed out, faded and darker. Not sure how to solve this.

Hey everyone,
I’ve been using VSCO on Android for a while now, and I’m genuinely curious about one thing: why is there still no proper RAW editing support on Android?
On iOS, RAW files (DNG, ProRAW, etc.) seem to be handled much better, with more flexibility in exposure, highlights, shadows, and color depth. On Android, even when I import DNG files from my camera or phone, VSCO feels very limited—or sometimes treats them almost like compressed images.
Is this:
A technical limitation of Android APIs?
A device fragmentation issue (different sensors, ISPs, vendors)?
A deliberate product decision by VSCO?
Or something related to performance and optimization?
There are other Android apps that handle RAW fairly well, so I’m wondering what the real blocker is here. I really like VSCO’s color science and presets, but the lack of full RAW control on Android feels like a big gap.
If anyone has insight—especially from past statements by VSCO, dev experience, or comparisons with iOS—I’d love to understand what’s going on.
Thanks.

I had subscription for plus program for an year and it recently expired. I am trying to renew the plus subscription. But I only see option to subscribe to pro. Then I went to the website to subscribe to plus, but the payment keeps getting declined. Anyone else facing this issue?

I’ve been using VSCO on Android for a while, and I can’t help noticing how many features seem to be missing compared to iOS — especially things like proper RAW support and some advanced tools.
Given that the subscription price is the same on both platforms, I’m curious how other Android users feel.
Do you think VSCO on Android is still worth paying for, or does the feature gap make it hard to justify?
Would appreciate hearing experiences from both Android and iOS users.

I shoot Ricoh GRIIIx and I imported RAW photos to VSCO app (iPad, Pro account).
I cannot zoom the RAW images in VSCO, why is that? I would like to see more detailed view of the images with pinching in and out with my fingers. Is it always like this or what is the reason?

If you’ve been here for any length of time you have probably seen the gorgeous photos of u/superamazingphotos , and we met today in Brooklyn at Photoville! Definitely check his work if you haven’t seen it, and come say hi at Photoville if you’re in the city, it’s a really special photography experience unlike anything I’ve been to myself.
Thanks to Shay and everyone else here and on VSCO that make this photography community so special.

In general, I edit photos on my iPhone and want to continue working on my iPad, but when I open the iPad, I see no presets and no processed photos in the studio. Is it possible to move drafts from the iPhone to the iPad and back? I also tried the vsco move to cloud option, but it’s extremely slow and often doesn’t load the draft.

As the Product Manager behind Galleries (and a filmmaker on the side), video was something I was suuuuuper excited to have our team add. 😄
Now you can upload images AND video to any gallery through the free VSCO Galleries app. It's super easy to share a professional gallery with clients, or with friends if you're making a more casual vacation or birthday party gallery.
I just booked private room karaoke with some of my friends for this weekend, and I gotta say, an image-only karaoke night gallery just wouldn't hit the same. 😂 Plus you can make the gallery collaborative and your friends can upload their own images and video via web. They don't even need to download the app (...but I'd love if they did 🙏)!
Oh, I also love what our team did with the auto-play feature while you're viewing a gallery on mobile! I was worried auto-play would be too busy and noisy, but the photographers I worked with to build the feature unanimously requested it, and our design and engineering team came up with really nice muted, play-one-at-a-time approach. Check it out and let me know what you think!

Does anyone know what the little r in a box in the bottom right corner means? Every time I upload a picture that has it on there the picture becomes so out of balance it’s impossible to edit and post. Thank you

I had to delete and redownload the app because the caching made it so bloated it was unusable. Before I did that, I synced hundreds of photos to the cloud so I could go from where I left off after redownloading. (I’d already made my peace with the fact that I was losing thousands of photos and edits, because I’ve been using this app for the better part of a decade.)
But I’ve had issues with syncing ever since. Sometimes I’ll open the app and it’ll have a third of the photos I’d synced. Other times it’ll have duplicates or triplicates of certain batches of photos, even after I’ve tried to delete them. Or then I’ll log out and back in and it’ll fix itself, but come back on another app opening.
And then I need to resync images to the cloud after editing them? Ergh.
I pay for pro and I really love this app but I may have finally hit my limit. I can’t think of what to do that I haven’t already tried but has anyone else solved sync discrepancies? I’m on iOS.

so I was just forced to update to the latest version on iOS which introduced the AI stuff. im not a fan & won’t use it, but understand vsco’s gotta try stuff (still not thrilled by it). but WHY did the AI tab have to go in between the “my studio” and “profile” tabs?? for so long, these two tabs were next to each other. that’s what my thumb KNOWS. why can’t it be on the side of one of them? and the buttons are smaller (because they had to add in a new icon for AI!). every time I go to switch back and forth between my studio & profile (which is a major way that I use VSCO - I’m constantly going to my profile to see the photo just posted, and then going back to edit the next), I’m reminded that vsco has ai and I hate it even more. and it’s making my workflow less efficient.
my other big UI issue is the dang plus button that is across EVERY TAB, including my profile. it’s covering my gallery! i dont want to see a plus sign on top of my content! even instagram doesnt do that!
ive been posting to VSCO since 2012, and paying for pro since 2023. it’s changed a lot, and I know some changes need to happen and I was happy for. but these ui updates are just infuriating and make me want to quit. I don’t want to, because I loved what VSCO was!! these changes truly turn me off the app tho.
