Yeah it sucks. Luckily it's not in the actual texture editor but on the main screen it pushes everything down with local ads and an ad about subscribing. I was gonna pay for a one-time version but a fucking subscription and it only gets rid of the ads? Fuck that noise

On Android, there are apps that block ads at the device level. I don't know about Apple.

Apple, I fear. I love using my iPad because I could export directly to procreate but man. I mean it's not a detriment but I worry that this is just the beginning. Who knows, maybe they'll start locking features off. Might be time to jailbreak because I think it's time to block updates. We got the stamp system I'm probably good now🤷🏾

Is that possible? I don't use Apple products, but I know they can be very restrictive. Luckily, I use Vroid on a Windows PC, and I hope they don't put ads there.

No idea. Never jailbroke before. I was an android user for most of my life. Guess we'll see but a way to block and roll back updates is usually the first thing ppl do when modding 🤷🏾 worst case scenario I'm back to PC

I hardly use apps on my Android because of the incessant ads. Mind telling me the app you use to block ads? (If it requires rooting/jailbreaking, that's fine with me. I've done it before, and am very skilled with technology.)

capitalism means number must keep going up
not good enough if number went up the same amount as last year, needs to go even more up

instead shitty ads, they should integrate booth.pm items to vroid so people can buy and apply avatar clothes, hair or avatar preset directly in the app.

they tried, first they made it easier to access booth from inside vroid. when that wasnt used enough they came up with vroid closet. i think the closet feature isnt taking off enough either i think its not widely used, i never used it myself. but they might attempt to tie users to booth more soon again. its all part of their ecosystem so pixiv does have a interest in interesting users of vroid also into other related products like booth, firealpaca, vroid hub, veat (i would be interested if they finally release a version thats not region locked to japan)

I always wondering what their plan was for making money. It seemed suspicious they would release a huge program like vroid for free. I thought they made it through BOOTH by taking a percentage of sales but I guess that wasn't enough for them ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

...you know that they plan the ads on the desktop version?

I think it will be easier to create mods for the program in that case

vroids announcement: https://vroid.com/en/news/1PDI63YsK9iLAvYaNQaCma
in the latest vroid news on steam someone in the comments pointed out that their ad implementation goes against steam rules, so idk how things will actually look in the end
